This indicates that the crypto community, globally, has started to redirect its interest in bitcoin (BTC) to Web3 for several months.

Explanation of Google Trends data

The drop in research global bitcoin on google is likely due to the extended bear market. It must be said that currently, these searches are at their lowest level for more than a year. At the same time, Google searches for Web3 have been recurring throughout this year.

Concretely, from October 9 to 15, the interest for Web3 amounted to 72. During the same period, it was only 27 for Bitcoin. Yet, from June 12-18, it was at 100 for the flagship crypto.

Chinese more interested in Web3, Salvadorans more focused on flagship crypto

For searches around Bitcoin, El Salvador ranks first. It is followed by: Nigeria, the Netherlands, Austria and Switzerland.

Thus, Nigeria is in the top three countries both on the list of those who search the most the term Web3 and on the list of those who search the most Bitcoin. This proves how much the Nigerian population is interested in these technologies. The government is also leading discussions with the Binance exchange for an economic zone favorable to cryptos.
