XRP: Wallet count hits record 8.24 million
Summarize this article with:

The XRP Ledger now has 8.24 million addresses holding a balance, an all-time high despite XRP’s recent volatility. This progression confirms the expansion of the network, but it is not yet enough to cause a lasting recovery of the price.

The scene illustrates the record 8.24 million XRP wallets, testifying to the expansion of its network. In the foreground, an enthusiastic investor holds up his smartphone displaying the XRP symbol, surrounded by a crowd celebrating the progress. In the center, a gigantic glowing XRP coin symbolizes the growing popularity of the cryptocurrency. In the background, a connected globe evokes its international adoption. The 8.24 M counter and the upward arrow highlight this new historic high. The orange and black colors reinforce the visual impact. The whole reflects a growth of the network, without guaranteeing an increase in the price of XRP.

In brief

  • The XRP Ledger hits an all-time high of 8.24 million addresses holding a balance.
  • The network recorded 4,772 new wallets in one day, a sign of growing activity.
  • This progression does not necessarily reflect an equivalent increase in the number of users.
  • Despite this growth, the price of XRP remains under pressure around $1.30.
  • A sustainable crossing of $1.40 could pave the way for a recovery towards $1.50.

XRP Ledger adds 4772 wallets in one day

The number of non-empty addresses on the XRP Ledger reached a record 8.24 million, according to data published by analytics platform Santiment. This rise continued as XRP hovered around $1.30 after several difficult weeks.

The network registered 4772 new wallets in a single day. This is the fifth largest daily peak observed since March. This acceleration suggests a renewed interest in the ecosystem, without making it possible to determine precisely how many new investors have joined the network.

Several figures summarize the current situation of XRP:

  • The XRP Ledger has 8.24 million non-empty addresses;
  • The network added 4772 wallets in 24 hours;
  • This increase represents the fifth largest daily peak since March;
  • XRP is trading around $1.30 as of October 25;
  • The $1.40 and $1.50 levels remain the main resistances to watch.

Santiment estimated that the growth in the number of holders continues despite the low price. The company said:

The participation of new users is accelerating again, which reinforces the bullish scenario if the price confirms this increase in the number of users.

This formulation, however, remains conditional. An increase in the number of wallets does not automatically trigger sufficient demand to drive XRP higher. The token has also fallen since reaching close to $1.40 on October 21, despite the continued increase in the number of addresses.

An XRP wallet does not always correspond to a user

The record of 8.24 million should be interpreted with caution. The data counts addresses containing XRP, not the exact number of people using the network. The same investor can control several portfolios, in particular to separate their payment, custody and trading activities.

Conversely, a single address can represent thousands of customers. Exchanges often keep multiple users’ funds in a common wallet. On the XRP Ledger, they then use identifiers called “destination tags” to assign each deposit to the correct customer.

The published figure therefore measures the expansion of funded accounts, but not necessarily that of individual users. It also does not provide information on the amounts held in each wallet. An address that contains a few XRP has the same statistical weight as an institutional wallet holding several million tokens.

Santiment also distinguishes the total number of non-empty addresses from daily network growth. This second indicator measures new addresses that transfer an asset for the first time. It provides a more dynamic view of the arrival of new participants, but can also be influenced by promotional campaigns, token distributions or automated activity.

The progression observed nevertheless remains significant. The XRP Ledger approached eight million activated addresses at the end of June before crossing this threshold in July. The increase to 8.24 million shows that the creation of accounts continued despite the decline in the crypto market.

XRP price remains stuck below $1.40

XRP is trading around $1.30 on October 25, after hitting a low near $1.25 the day before. The token remains locked in a zone between support located around $1.25 to $1.30 and resistance near $1.40.

Santiment believes that a sustainable rise above $1.40, accompanied by at least 4,000 new wallets per day, could increase the likelihood of a return to $1.50. Conversely, a fall below $1.30 combined with fewer than 3,000 new daily addresses would weaken the adoption signal in the short term.

The increase in portfolios therefore constitutes an encouraging indicator, but it must be compared to other data. Transaction volumes, stablecoin transfers, app activity, and flows into investment products help determine whether these new accounts represent sustainable use.

The address record shows that the XRP ecosystem continues to expand. For the market, the real test will now be whether this progression translates into economic activity and real demand for the token.
