What is Qubic AGI Lab organizing in Basel on Saturday?

Qubic AGI Lab, a non-profit association under Swiss law, brings together the Qubic community in Basel.

Qubic is a blockchain whose mining also drives artificial intelligence, an approach that Tremplin.io explored in how Qubic turns each CPU cycle into real value. Instead of solving puzzles for no other purpose, miners perform calculations that help evolve a neural network called Aigarth.

This mechanism is called Useful Proof of Work : Energy spent securing the network also produces useful computing work. Our guide to Useful Proof of Work explains how it differs from Bitcoin-style mining.

“A day of conferences and a round table on decentralized AGI, Aigarth and Useful Proof of Work on the Qubic network. Open to everyone: community members, developers, researchers and anyone curious. »

Who are the speakers?

The main speaker, Dr. José Sánchez García, is a neuroscientist and holds a doctorate in psychology from the Complutense University of Madrid, according to his teaching profile at UNIRthe Spanish online university where he teaches cognitive and behavioral neuroscience. This same profile credits him with around twenty articles published in leading journals (Q1 and Q2) on social emotions and the self, as well as consulting activities with international football bodies, notably FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation.

At Qubic, he is a scientific advisor in bio-inspired artificial general intelligence and co-inventor of Neuraxon, a neural model inspired by the way the brain develops and performs calculations.

He co-authored the article Neuraxon 2.0 in 2025 and Multi-Neuraxon in 2026, according to its own website. Its inaugural conference and the closing round table constitute the scientific heart of the day.

Alongside him, joetom, Core Tech Lead at Qubic, works on the central protocol and distributed systems in high-performance C++. Mining sessions are led by frog-rabbit, an electrical and hardware engineer, in English, and by Pomm3sgab3l, who works on mining software and infrastructure, in German. mio, a software developer specializing in APIs and product development, leads the afternoon session focused on building tools for the Qubic ecosystem.

How to register for Saturday?

Registrations are made on the official event pagein English or German. They are free and allow organizers to plan places and food. The number of participants being limited to 70, it is better to register before Saturday rather than going directly to the entrance.

The event location, the Escape Bar, is located at Gasstrasse 1, 4056 Basel. The aperitif following the conferences at 4 p.m. is the ideal time to meet the speakers in person.

On Saturday, November 7, from 10 a.m., the 2:30 p.m. roundtable on the future of decentralized AGI is the session not to be missed, since it brings together Qubic’s scientific advisor and senior technical manager around the same question: how far can a network of miners advance artificial intelligence? If mining sessions pique your curiosity, our complete 2026 guide to QUBIC mining outlines the next steps.
