Shiba Inu posts record quarter, but October remains uncertain
Summarize this article with:

In the third quarter, the SHIB posted a cumulative increase of 44.1%, thanks to three consecutive months in the green. Historically, October often has an average return of 167.5%, however this figure is based almost entirely on 2021’s spectacular boom.

A personified Shiba Inu, recognizable by the visual symbol of the SHIB ecosystem, has just triumphantly crossed the finish line at the top of a gigantic financial ramp. It occupies about two thirds of the foreground. One paw remains raised in a victorious posture, but its expression changes: its smile gives way to an intrigued and slightly worried look. Behind him, the road rises steeply and crosses three large successive arches, symbolizing the past quarter. The last arch is the tallest, with orange confetti and traders celebrating the performance. In front of him, on the other hand, a completely different road begins: it disappears almost immediately in a thick black and gray fog. At the entrance to this area is a large graphic calendar without letters or numbers, a new page of which has just been turned over by the wind.

In brief

  • The SHIB increased by 44.1% in the third quarter, driven by three consecutive months of increase.
  • The historical average of 167.5% in October is mainly based on the exceptional surge of 2021.
  • Excluding October 2021, the average yield drops to around 0.96%, with a median near 6.04%.
  • The main short-term support lies between $0.00000560 and $0.00000570.
  • Despite its quarterly rebound, the SHIB remains down over the year and over twelve months.

The SHIB continues three consecutive months of increase

After a decline of 24% during the month of June, Shiba Inu benefited from the general rise in the crypto market. The token is heading towards its best third quarter since its launch, although this streak will not officially end until September 30.

This correction accompanies the progression of the entire sector. Between the start of this movement and today, the total valuation of cryptos increased from 2150 to 2890 billion dollars. This 34.4% increase reveals that the recovery of SHIB is not based exclusively on factors specific to its ecosystem.

The monthly performances really detail the construction of this positive quarter:

  • SHIB gained 12.2% in July;
  • Its progression reached 7.55% in August;
  • The token was up 19.4% in September;
  • Its cumulative quarterly return reached 44.1% as of September 23.

These data remain provisional, as one week of trading is still missing before the end of the quarter.

The average of 167.5% comes mainly from October 2021

In October, the average performance of the SHIB was indeed around 167.5% in the historical series. This statistic seems very high, however it does not reflect the usual behavior of the token.

The Shiba Inu soared 833.6% in October 2021 and reached its all-time high. The results in subsequent years were much less exceptional. Thus, the SHIB had gained nearly 10% in October 2022, 6.13% in 2023 and only 1.33% in 2024. Then, it had lost 13.61% in October 2025.

Thus, a single observation justifies most of the average. When you remove October 2021 from the calculation, the average return for the other four years drops to almost 0.96%. Less sensitive to extreme values, the median is around 6.04%.

The 167% trigger therefore corresponds neither to a technical signal nor to a projection. Indeed, it is simply an average calculated over five months of October, including a spectacular result. The sample remains too small to establish reliable seasonality.

Shiba Inu is still testing several resistances

Nevertheless, we notice an improvement in the structure of the SHIB. The token formed a double bottom pattern between $0.0000034 and $0.0000045 before beginning its recovery. This pattern may indicate an exhaustion of sellers, however it requires a confirmed break of resistances.

On September 23, the SHIB was close to $0.00000627 before falling to around $0.00000602. The first zone to cross is therefore between 0.00000620 and 0.00000630 dollars. A daily close beyond this range would consolidate the rebound and place $0.00000650 to $0.00000670 among the next levels to watch.

More significant resistance at $0.0000075 was identified. Its crossing would open a scenario towards 0.000011 dollars. However, these thresholds relate to on-chain analysis and do not represent guaranteed objectives.

The zone between 0.00000560 and 0.00000570 dollars constitutes the main support for the short-term decline. A lasting return below this level could weaken the attempted turnaround.

The annual balance sheet remains largely negative

Finally, this quarterly increase must be placed in a longer perspective. Despite this recent increase, the SHIB has lost another 12.6% since the start of 2026 and almost 50% over one year. The token also remains far from its 2021 record.

Its performance next October will depend more on demand, volumes and overall market growth than on the historical average. Maintaining above $0.00000560 could preserve the current structure, while a confirmed break of $0.00000630 would provide a first additional signal.

Additionally, the average return of 167.5% may be attention-grabbing, however the median of 6.04% more accurately specifies the available history. October therefore remains a potentially favorable month for the SHIB price, without constituting an immediate trigger for an increase.
