NFT: A great first for CryptoPunk NFTs!

One of the biggest sales in the history of CryptoPunk

Of course, NFTs CryptoPunk are very recent. Nevertheless, they are among the most expensive NFT sales. The CryptoPunk 5822, for example, sold for over $23 million and the CryptoPunk 7523 for $11,754,000.

Another record has just been set with the sale of CryptoPunk 2924 at $4.45 million. An unexpected situation, especially since sales have fallen sharply in recent months.

CryptoPunk 2924 Just Sold for $4,451,000

The lucky owner would be an NFT collector known as “Seedphrase”. He reportedly paid for the CryptoPunk in Ethereum for a total value of 3,300 ETH. Historically, this makes NFT the fourth most expensive CryptoPunk since CryptoPunk went on sale.

Before earning the status of the most expensive NFT in recent months, this CryptoPunk NFT was reportedly sold in November 2020 for 150 ETH (about $71,000).

CryptoPunk at its peak!

CryptoPunk is one of the fastest growing NFT brands in the market today. Ethereum Collection even defines its models as excellent for modern profiles. Launched in 2017, the project has aroused the enthusiasm of many NFT followers. And the first consecration was the purchase of CryptoPunk 5822 for 8,000 ETH, or almost $24 million.

Right now, CryptoPunk’s overall sales are up a remarkable 348%. With this latest $4.45 million purchase, the brand once again affirms its status as NFT’s most powerful collectible.

This event puts CryptoPunk even further ahead of other brands. Its main competitors, Bored Ape Yacht Club and Mutant Ape Yacht Club, still have a long way to go to hope to one day reach such a high peak. Currently, the daily sales appreciation rate is around 13% and 52% respectively.

Despite the resumption of sales in recent hours, the NFT market is not yet in good shape. Especially if we compare current sales to the peaks reached at the beginning of the year, NFTs are far from their best performance. We see a 97% drop between purchases in January and today. A fall that makes sense when you place the figures side by side: 17 billion dollars in January, against 466 million only in September.
