Migration from Solana to Polygon (MATIC): Eclipse brings out the heavy artillery

Some dApps developers have long envied the conveniences displayed by Polygon and wanted to migrate to the network. Thanks to Eclipse, their dream has now become a reality. A suitable solution has just been presented by this customizable rollup supplier.

Eclipse releases Polygon SVM

Polygon, as a scaling solution enabling faster and more efficient transactions on the Ethereum blockchain, has never stopped innovating. Recently, the team behind this platform announced the imminent release of the zkEVM Mainnet. It is a level 2 scalability solution that will allow more confidentiality, security and also the processing of approximately 10,000 transactions for 1 dollar.

Aware of these issues, some developers have expressed their desire to migrate to Polygon.

Polygon SVM upcoming release

If you are a developer or a [Ă©diteur de] game wanting to migrate to Polygon or interested in maximizing the power of the Polygon tech stack, Eclispe has some answers for you.

Existing tooling and smart contracts for the Solana virtual machine will soon be usable with Polygon. »

According to TechCruch, Eclipse has developed Polygon SVM, a Solana-compatible blockchain built for Polygon. The goal is to facilitate the migration of dApps to Polygon thanks to a sovereign blockchain using the SeaLevel Virtual Machine (SVM).

For its part The Block clarified that the Polygon SVM test will be done during the first quarter of this year. The deployment of the main network will however take place during the second quarter.

How will this be?

Eclipse and Polygon launch Polygon SVM. An L2 blockchain capable of executing all Solana-compatible smart contracts and tools.
dApps built for Solana can now easily migrate or multi-chain to Polygon SVM. »

To make the Polygon SVM solution effective, Eclipse will allow the creation of blocks via its Optimistic Rollups technology. Thus, it will become possible to execute native Solana smart contracts by transmitting codes to Eclipse.

Also note that Polygon’s Avail data availability protocol will act as the base layer for its rollup on occasion. This blockchain will make sure to communicate with the main network of Polygon and Ethereum using inter-chain bridges.

You can keep all your smart contracts identical and deploy them directly on Polygon SVM. In general, when moving from Solana to Polygon (using Polygon EVM), you must rewrite all smart contracts for the EVM », emphasizes Neel Somani, founder of Eclispe. From now on, dApp developers will have to worry less.
