Adidas’ BAYC in a World Cup trailer

Adidas is the supplier of several countries participating in the football World Cup which will start in a few days. As with every edition, the German sporting goods supplier has produced a trailer. The particularity of this one is that it makes a nod to new digital technologies. Besides football superstars, it includes a Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC). This is the BAYC Indigo Herz, or BAYC #8774. For information, Adidas acquired this NFT in September 2021, for 46 ETH. That’s the equivalent of $156,000.

In the promotional trailer, Indigo Herz is seen depicted on an “Indigoooooals” branded cereal box. The new Ballon d’Or, Karim Benzema, uses the cereals which are balloons. The message is that Karim Benzema eats goals for breakfast. Further, we see Lionel Messi playing table football against a similar character, which recalls his first participation in the world.
