Interview at the heart of metaverse gaming with Faheem Zafar, CEO and founder of TheMEGLAND

To this end, NFTs occupy a central place in its ecosystem. Faheem Zafar, founder of TheMEGLAND, gives us his vision of the platform during an exclusive interview.

The community already knows you as Faheem Zafar, the founder of TheMEGLAND, but could you introduce yourself briefly so that our readers and the whole community can get to know you a bit more?

Born in Creil, I am a French entrepreneur who caught investment fever as a child. Very young, I was nourished with the family values ​​of my parents of Pakistani origin. Thus, the sense of family, honour, the taste for work, the spirit of enterprise are the pillars that carry me to this day.

I watched my dad build an empire from scratch. This is also what pushed me to become the self-made man that I am. For example, I launched the first brand of fair trade pink salt in France. I experienced a failure that made me understand that market centralization is the first obstacle for investors who dream of success.

I am above all a computer enthusiast, especially online games that I had the chance to develop. Also, I have always dreamed of offering a space where game creators can give free rein to their imagination. It is in this sense that the blockchain is ideal, a place of freedom where power is decentralized.

What pushed you to undertake and create TheMEGLAND in the new world of Web3, at the frontier of all its new technologies such as the blockchain, the metaverse or the NFTs?

The impetus behind this project was to push the boundaries of traditional video games. Specifically, the decentralization of video game digital assets and their interoperability from one game to another has been a great motivation.

As I explained before, I’m a fan of video games. When I was younger, I spent my nights playing NFS races developed by EA. Unfortunately, my cars no longer exist today.

However, thanks to the blockchain and the NFTs, we can reveal universes that remain etched in time. We want to create a metaverse that will be developed and owned by the user in UGC (User Integrated Content) mode, in other words user-generated content. Above all, we want to provide access to interoperable digital assets from one metaverse to another. This is possible thanks to our modeling tool, MegEdit.

The platform is particularly rich in features. Can you tell us a few words about the preparation of the project? What were the most important steps?

I must admit that the preparation was very long, because I didn’t want to delegate anything without having mastered the subject. Specifically, I’ve always been comfortable with technology. Also, I started by training on Java, then I continued with the language of Solidity, then Unreal Engine 5, and dozens of training courses on Web3, all this while taking charge of writing the white paper in parallel.

Once I was more comfortable with the tools, I put together a team to complete the project. It took some time to find the right people who fully shared my vision for the project. Nevertheless, we got there.

Thanks to our presales of NFT, we have already raised more than 100,000 euros, which allows us to run the project and remunerate our team of around twenty people. Now, the challenge is to put in place the solutions to move our roadmap forward. And for that, we need more funds. It is for this reason that we have decided to set up our first sale of NFT LAND.

There is a term often mentioned when mentioning your platform, “The bitcoin of the metaverse”. Can you explain it to us?

Well, we’ve come a long way. More than once, some people tried to ridicule us in our early days. To get to where we are today, we went through tough times. Fortunately, if there’s one thing that hasn’t changed, it’s our ambition.

We are always looking for scalability and interoperability solutions as a priority, because that is what will revolutionize metaverse gaming. I am extremely proud of what we have accomplished, since today our vision has been validated once again by an international business expert, in this case the CEO of Deloitte France and Africa, Mr. Gianmarco.

If we’ve come this far, it’s not to create just one metaverse among others; it’s to revolutionize Web3 with our solutions.

What do you think are the strengths of TheMEGLAND? How does the project bring real added value to the gaming and metaverse industry?

Our platform is intended to be developed and owned over 95% by the user. In other words, the player can create the world he wants on his LAND and even invite friends to help him do it.

Similarly, he can monetize his experiences by inviting players in Play-to-Earn on his LAND and choose the percentage he wishes to distribute with the players he invites. To be more specific, a player can create their own metaverse on their LAND using our MegEdit tool, through which all kinds of assets can be obtained as NFTs.

Owning a LAND also allows you to benefit from passive income. Indeed, locking NFT LAND gives one year staking rewards. The percentage of APY decreases by 5% each month, from 100% APY to 40% APY at the end of the year.

In addition, the player has the possibility to vote on the important decisions of the platform thanks to the MEG token via a DAO.

Finally, what to expect after the mint which will take place on December 20, 2022?

After our first mint round on December 20, 2022, which will have 780 NFTs, we will mint a second round on January 5, 2023 with 700 NFTs this time. Then will follow the IEO (Initial Exchange offering) to launch our MEG token at the end of January. It is after this that the token will be listed on various exchanges, including Binance. The marketplace will also be accessible to the public in January. Our roadmap goes over all the stages of our journey in detail.
