FIFA+ Collect: FIFA's NFT project comes to fruition

Last May, the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) chose Algorand (ALGO) as its official blockchain provider for the 2022 World Cup. This, as part of its commitment to web3.0. The partnership involves the use of Algorand’s blockchain as part of FIFA’s strategy to further develop its digital asset strategy. The two parties have decided to develop a digital collectibles project called FIFA+ Collect.

An inclusive platform?

In a press release published on September 2, fifa announced that its digital collection developed on the Algorand blockchain (ALGO) in the wake of the 2022 World Cup, will be available before the end of the month.

FIFA+ Collect, the platform that will host the project, will allow football fans to own and collect, through NFTs, key moments from the Qatar 2022 World Cup. FIFA Women’s World, taking place in Australia and New Zealand next year.

“FIFA is delighted to announce FIFA+ Collect, which will launch on FIFA+ later this month and will offer football fans around the world the opportunity to afford unique digital collectibles – from the greatest game moments to the most iconic Men’s World Cup and Women’s World Cup artwork and images (…) Just like sports memorabilia and stickers, this is an accessible opportunity for fans around the world to engage with their favorite players, moments and more on new platforms »the statement said.

At launch, FIFA+ Collect will release a range of initial collections and details of upcoming exclusive, limited-edition collections. The project will be available on all web and mobile devices, in three languages: English, French and Spanish. Other languages ​​are planned to be added in the future.
