A post-war project plans to rebuild Gaza thanks to the crypto. Key: token land, intelligent cities and exchangeable tokens. An ambitious but controversial program, which makes blockchain a new geopolitical tool. More details below!

In short
- A US plan aims to tokenize the lands of Gaza via the crypto to finance the post-war reconstruction.
- This project, deemed illegal by NGOs, is based on the prompted movement of the local population.
Gaza tokenized: reconstruction tool or massive dispossession instrument?
Under the leadership of the Trump administration, a Plan called “Great Trust” offers a radical transformation of Gaza. This 38 -page project is focusing on land tokenization to create a new economic model based on crypto. The territory would therefore go under American supervision for a period of ten years, with the objective of building an entirely digital ecosystem.
Each Palestinian voluntarily moved would be given a digital token, in exchange for his land rights. This crypto asset would give access:
- either housing in one of the eight intelligent cities planned;
- either to financial compensation.
Land data would be saved on a blockchain to guarantee traceability and transfer of property.
The system is based on the sale of these tokens to private investorsseduced by the idea of funding infrastructure in exchange for a return. These assets, exchangeable on secondary platforms, are presented as a means of rebuilding the local economy, but above all aim to attract crypto users in search of projects with high speculative potential.
Humanitarian crypto or illegitimate algorithmic privatization of a territory?
Behind the technological varnish, the project raises criticism. Several NGOs see there a large -scale digital spoliation. This is the case of Council on American-Islamic Relations.
According to them, this System backed to crypto contravenes international law. The fact is that it is based on population trips presented as “volunteers”, but deemed coercive.
Each inhabitant leaving the Gaza Strip would get:
- $ 5,000;
- four years of housing grants;
- A year of food.
The document thus suggests that the more the number of departures increases, the more profitable the crypto model. A logic that worries observers. The latter indeed fear Human rights commodification via blockchain.
Trump's plan imposes a disturbing use of the crypto in a logic of post-war territorial control. An alarming world first, marked by technological domination and state interests.
