1. How did the idea of ​​creating a memecoin project come about? Could you tell us the story of the project, how Chihuahua was born? Is it a joke like the famous Dogecoin?

Each ecosystem has its own memecoin, it's a bit like having a mascot for your club! At the end of 2021, as the first Cosmos chains were starting to launch, we were discussing on Discord channels who would create the first meme token under Juno (CW-20, the version of ERC-20 using CosmWasm smart contracts). Two members were particularly motivated, and I proposed to create a meme chain to demonstrate the ease of use of the Cosmos SDK. Two weeks later, we launched the chain with a few validators, directly in mainnet. Three months later, the chain was valued at $1.1 billion. The fall of Terra and UST then impacted the entire ecosystem.

2. Huahua, through the Chihuahua project, sports the image of the dog. Just like its elders Dogecoin or Shiba Inu, is the figure of the dog the most interesting for memecoins? Why did you choose the dog for Huahua?

I think it's mostly a simple, easily digestible reference. A lot of people own Shiba or Chihuahuas. Having lots of references, memes, gifs, and easily relatable culture is important for building a community. Humans have a need to belong, and cute, funny animals that are known on the internet help make that connection easier.

3. Concretely, how can we explain to our readers the concept of use? How does today's memecoin allow ecosystems to develop?

Memecoins are a marketing way to get away from the overly technical side of every project. Cryptocurrencies are mostly developed by engineers for other engineers. A dog head symbolizing all of this makes the concept much more accessible. That's what we're trying to do with Chihuahua for Cosmos.

4. For you, the idea of ​​memecoin is?

Something simple, funny, endearing and that doesn't make promises.

5. How could you describe the community momentum that develops around a memecoin? And above all, can you explain to us the reasons for this momentum?

For the community, the main interest is financial. They find this memecoin funny before others and want to share it, thinking that other people will come together around the same interest. It is also to increase their own investment, as they say in the industry.

6. How do you see the future of the Chihuahua memecoin? Do you already know where the community wants to go in the coming years?

There are some great ideas coming, between the metaverse, gaming, universal swap, and the launchpad for social animals (creating the web3 identity of your animal known on Instagram/TikTok). We think it's a niche market but very important to develop new opportunities for pet owners. By highlighting this and allowing better monetization, we could share this new wealth for all animal causes and advance non-financial fields that need it.
