Joining the blue bird: a priority for CZ?
Recently, Changpeng Zhao, CEO of Binance, participated in a conference technology in Lisbon, Portugal. According to an article by The Block, CZ has declared, during the conference, that he was ready to join the board of directors of Twitter. However, the CEO of Binance doesn’t make it a priority either. Indeed, he said: Elon is still deciding what will happen with the Board of Directors. If he asks me to be part of it, I probably will“. Then he clarified:I would probably do it as a favor. It’s not something I’m dying to do“.
For CZ, the new CEO of Twitter must have other worries now. Indeed, the CEO of Binance believes that Musk must be busy with the many layoffs to be made. Elon Musk also needs to change a lot of things within Twitter. In particular, he plans to change the current account verification system of the network to the blue bird.
CZ wants to help Twitter with blockchain
Binance supported Elon Musk during the Twitter acquisition process, including by injecting $500 million into it. The CEO had said that the cryptocurrency exchange would help bringing together social media and the Web3. Binance thus intends “expand the use and adoption of crypto and blockchain technology“.
With this in mind, a Binance spokesperson had said that the exchange was setting up a team for Twitter. The latter would aim to establish a plan that could allow the social network to use blockchain technology to its advantage. Also, in Lisbon, CZ suggested that a crypto payment system could be rolled out on Twitter.
After buying all the shares of Twitter, Elon Musk proceeded to dissolve the company’s Board of Directors. He is now the sole director of social media. It is expected that a new Council will be put in place in the coming days. Big names in the crypto industry (like Changpeng Zhao) could join this council, but nothing is certain yet.
