What does the AI Expo Europe program offer? ?
AI Expo Europe will be held on November 1 and 2, 2026 in Bucharest, on a conference stage and a demonstration stage, according to the official event agenda. What place for crypto and blockchain at AI Expo Europe?
No session in the online agenda focuses on crypto or blockchain, but several announced speakers have this profile, according to the biographies published by the organizer as of October 6, 2026. Sergiu T. Vasilescu, managing partner of the VD Law Group firm, is presented as a specialist in fintech, blockchain and cryptocurrencies, ranked Band 1 in fintech by Chambers and Partners. Three other lawyers from the firm, Luca Dejan, Bogdan Rotaru and Ana Maria Buta, are announced with practices in blockchain or crypto.
Felix Crisan is co-founder and CTO of Netopia, described as Romania’s largest electronic payments processor, and co-founder of BTKO.in, described as Romania’s first crypto exchange, operational since 2013. The blockchain traceability platform founded by Sebastian Cochinescu, entrepreneur and business angel, was used in 2019 during NATO’s Vigorous Warrior exercise. The sessions of these speakers do not appear in the online agenda: their speaking time remains to be confirmed. The session on the AI Act may also concern crypto platforms that integrate AI, for example in customer support or the fight against fraud.
Why is AI a topic for a 5.2% adoption market?
In 2025, 5.2% of Romanian companies with 10 or more employees used AI, the lowest rate in the European Union, compared to 20% on average in the Union and 42% in Denmark, according to Eurostat (survey on the use of ICT in businesses, published in December 2025). The gap between Denmark and Romania is a factor of eight.
The organizer draws an argument from this. In his assessment of the 2025 editionpublished on July 6, 2026, it claims that more than 3,200 professionals purchased or requested a ticket and that 176 companies purchased several, or more than half of the tickets sold. These figures are declarative and have not been independently verified.
