Evernorth has pushed back the expected start of its Nasdaq listing under the symbol XRPN to October 12, due to an administrative delay. This schedule coincides with two important upgrades to the XRP Ledger, but their activation does not guarantee an increase in XRP, which is trading around $1.46.

In brief
- Evernorth postpones the expected start of its trading on Nasdaq under the symbol XRPN until October 12.
- The company is expected to hold approximately 473 million XRP after its tie-up with Armada.
- Two major XRP Ledger upgrades are expected around October 8 and 9.
- XRPN will provide indirect exposure to XRP, without amounting to a direct purchase of the token.
- The impact on the price of XRP will mainly depend on future purchases from Evernorth and the actual adoption of the new functions.
XRP and Evernorth: key dates to watch
Shareholders of Armada Acquisition Corp. They approved their merger with Evernorth on September 30. The operation was initially scheduled to be finalized on October 7, before trading began under the symbol XRPN the following day.
Evernorth has, however, announced a slight postponement. The company now plans to close the transaction on October 9 and begin trading on October 12. These maturities remain subject to the usual conditions and final authorization from Nasdaq.
Several events therefore focus on a short period:
- The merger between Evernorth and Armada must be finalized around October 9;
- XRPN stock is expected to begin trading on Nasdaq on October 12;
- Evernorth is expected to hold approximately 473 million XRP at the time of the transaction;
- The company is due to receive nearly $300 million in gross cash;
- Two amendments of the XRP Ledger could be activated on October 8 and 9.
Evernorth attributes this calendar change to “an administrative delay which should not affect the closing”. This is therefore not, according to the company, a questioning of the operation. The postponement nevertheless reduces the calendar effect put forward by investors who were waiting for several simultaneous catalysts.
Evernorth will provide indirect exposure
Evernorth intends to become the largest listed company exclusively focused on XRP treasury. Unlike a company that simply holds its cryptos, it plans to deploy a portion of its assets into yield strategies, infrastructure, and ecosystem-related activities.
Its founder, Asheesh Birla, says he wants to build “an actively managed XRP treasury, with the transparency and governance demanded by public markets”. Ripple, SBI Group, Pantera Capital, Kraken, GSR and Arrington Capital are among the announced investors.
However, purchasing an XRPN share will not correspond to the direct acquisition of XRP. Investors will be exposed to a company owning the token, but also to its fees, governance, allocation choices and fluctuations in its market valuation.
The listing will not necessarily trigger new purchases equivalent to the expected 473 million XRP. A significant part of this reserve comes from contributions already made in kind. The future effect on demand will depend primarily on the use of the $300 million raised and Evernorth’s cash flow decisions.
Two upgrades expected on the XRP Ledger
The XRP Ledger is simultaneously preparing for conditional activation “PermissionDelegationV1_1 and BatchV1_1”. These amendments must maintain the required support from validators for their entire approval period.
PermissionDelegationV1_1 will allow an account to grant precise permissions to another address without passing full control of its keys to it. A company may, for example, authorize an operator to make certain payments or certain operations defined in advance.
This feature can facilitate segregation of responsibilities and access control. However, the official documentation recommends not temporarily delegating PaymentBurn permission until an additional patch is activated. Other granular permissions are not affected by this warning.
BatchV1_1 will allow up to eight transactions to be grouped together. Depending on the mode chosen, they may be executed in full or canceled together if one of them fails. This mechanism can simplify atomic swaps, settlements against delivery and certain operations on tokenized assets.
XRP still has to break through its resistance
XRP is trading near $1.46 after falling more than 2% in 24 hours. The $1.55 area is the main resistance in the short term, while the $1.45 level serves as the first benchmark in the event of a pullback.
A successful Evernorth listing would expand stock exchange access to the XRP ecosystem. The new functions of the registry could also improve its institutional use. None of these events, however, guarantee immediate demand for the token.
The market will especially monitor further Evernorth purchases, trading volume on XRPN, and actual usage of new network features. Without measurable flows or concrete adoption, these announcements could have a limited effect on the price.
