An edition focused on AI in business
The 2026 edition displays a clear ambition: to go beyond the technological demonstration stage to focus on measurable use cases — automation, customer service, data analysis, finance, HR, cybersecurity, software development. A choice of angle that sticks to a local reality: the adoption rate of AI in business in Romania would peak at 5.2%one of the lowest in Europe according to Eurostat data cited by the organizers. Enough to explain the presence, alongside the cloud giants, of local institutions such as the Romanian Digitalization Authority or the National Communications Regulatory Authority (ANCOM).
The regulatory aspect is not left out: Victor NégrescuVice-President of the European Parliament, is due to speak on AI governance issues – a subject that the European AI Act has made essential for any company deploying AI models on the European market.
Who will be on stage
The speaker line-up mixes major tech accounts and Romanian innovation players: Rod Evans (VP Supercomputing & AI Europe/Middle East/Africa at NVIDIA), Sonika Kapil (Strategic Data & AI CTO Financial Services at Microsoft), Dimitris Andreadis (Sr. Engineering Director Red Hat at IBM) or even Patrick van den Hoevel (Director Deal Pursuit EMEA at Google Cloud).
The crypto/Web3 aspect, more discreet, is not absent: the CES Web3 Tokenization Village is among the exhibitors, and Adrian Paraschivescu, presented as Romania’s first crypto journalist, also speaks. A sign that the convergence between AI and blockchain continues to take hold, even in general AI events.
The place and the atmosphere
The conference is held at Radisson Blu Hotela 5-star hotel in the center of Bucharest, close to the Romanian Athenaeum and about 3 km from the Palace of Parliament. The organizers are banking on a dense format: daytime conferences, exhibition space to meet directly with exhibiting companies, then networking evenings — including a ceremony AI Expo Europe Awards presented as the highlight of the event.
