Mastercard is certainly one of the American financial companies that is betting the most on the potential of the blockchain and its applications. In recent months, in fact, the company has multiplied projects and partnerships aimed at integrating cryptos into its services. Obviously, the company intends to continue to move in this direction.
A project that will make real-time crypto settlement effective
Mastercard seems to be full of ideas for adapting to the changes driven by the rise of blockchain. After requesting the Polygon platform to implement its Web3 projects, the firm has a new ambition. Tuesday February 21, it announced that its service offering will soon integrate a crypto payment method. This new service will be based on the decentralized Immersve protocol. It should allow transactions to be made in Web 3.
The company wants to allow its users to perform crypto transactions through their wallets. This, without necessarily resorting to a third party company for the often required guarantee needs.
Instead, another alternative was found. It consists of partnering with a third-party payment provider who, thanks to the Immersve protocol, will promote purchases through the use of USDC.
These stablecoins will then be convertible into fiat currency usable on the Mastercard network. The USDC therefore essentially represent the keystone of this revolution announced several months ago. Once operational, this service will be available through the provision of a feature. This should allow users to validate their operations using their private keys.
A crucial area for the future of the company
We know that the company relies on the blockchain and its applications to ensure its growth and improve its results. Several projects launched testify to this. Mastercard, for example, partnered with the crypto platform, Binance a few months ago.
Together, the two parties want to launch a prepaid card service in Latin America and convert digital assets into fiat currency. More recently, the company has implemented its Secure platform, the objective of which is to limit the risks of crypto fraud.
It is clear that Mastercard wants to play a leading role in the evolving crypto industry. A sector whose possibilities seem to him more and more certain and monetizable.
