On August 11, 2026, Pi Network reached a major technical milestone: the migration to the v26 protocol. This process was supposed to strengthen the crypto mainnet, but the reaction of crypto traders is quite different. The PI token rejects the $0.11 mark. Even worse! The value of this crypto asset has fallen below $0.09. How far could the price of PI fall (or rebound) in the coming days? Decryption.

In brief
- PI approached $0.11 on August 11 before returning to around $0.088.
- The v26 protocol improves infrastructure without directly changing supply or demand.
- The price remains about 97% below its all-time high of $2.99.
- The $0.080 to $0.082 area provides the first technical support.
- The Pi crypto must regain $0.10 to give more credibility to its rebound.
Crypto Pi: what the v26 protocol really changes
After the launch of SLICE, Pi Network announces the v26 protocol deployment on July 29. The Pi Core Team sets the installation deadline as August 11 for all mainnet node operators. Once this deadline passes, those who have not migrated risk being disconnected from the crypto network. According to available data, approximately 421,000 nodes were affected by this migration.
This upgrade follows the protocol v25 activated on July 22. The latter introduced BN254 and Poseidon cryptographic functions for confidential contracts. According to the team, the v26.1 protocol represents a technical variant of the same project. It reinforces:
- the security of smart contracts;
- state management;
- crypto network interoperability.
It thus reduces the technical debt of the blockchain, in addition to providing developers with a more modern base. But above all, this technical migration lays the foundations for Protocol v27. This is the latest update announced by the crypto project.
Some crypto analysts nevertheless raise a gray area: the Pi Core Team has still not officially confirmed the transition of the entire network. Enough to fuel investor caution.
Crypto Pi struggles to rebound: analysts point the finger at token unlocks
Most crypto experts agree on this point: the token unlock schedule largely explains the Pi’s inability to transform the test. Nearly 128 million IPs are due to arrive on the market in August, followed by 132.7 million in September.
This additional offer adds to an already tense context: the Pi token is moving more than 95% below its all-time high (despite a claimed base of 60 million users). At the time of writing this article, PI price is trading around $0.089. Its capitalization is approximately $989 million. The daily volume is only around $4.1 million. Which represents approximately 0.42% of the capitalization.

This ratio provides insight missing from simple reading of the price: the IP market remains relatively shallow. But not only that! It also illustrates the structural difficulty of the crypto project in converting its community into real demand on secondary markets.
Technical analysis reveals conflict zone between $0.08 and $0.10
Driven by a surge in activity linked to the expiry of the v26 protocol, the Pi crypto price reached $0.11 on August 11. Unfortunately, the momentum did not hold. Sellers have indeed regained control, bringing the price back to $0.0877.
Crypto analysts draw attention to two fundamental indicators: the VRVP and the MFI.
- Volume Profile (VRVP) data places the area of recent activity between $0.080 and $0.100.
- The Money Flow Index (MFI) reached 63.24. This indicates an improving buying pressure, without however returning to the volumes of the July sell-off.

Immediate support therefore lies between $0.080 and $0.082. As for resistance, it now ranges from $0.090 to $0.10. A breach of $0.10 would reopen the path towards $0.11, then towards harder resistance around $0.127. Conversely, a loss of support at $0.080 would bring the Pi course towards the July base (between $0.069 and $0.070).
So, Pi Network now finds itself facing the real test of adoption. Certainly, the crypto network has reached an important technical milestone. In recent months, it has also undergone several upgrades. That being said, the rejection of $0.11 is a reminder of the priority of the crypto market: generating real demand. The next battle will therefore be played out as much in the ecosystem as on the graph. The next few days promise to be decisive!
