X is accelerating its rapprochement with trading. The social network joins forces with Coinbase, Kraken, Gemini, Interactive Brokers and Moomoo to allow users to more easily access trading platforms from Cashtags displayed in publications. A new step that brings market discussions closer to order execution.

In brief
- X adds a “Trade” button to Cashtags dedicated to stocks, ETFs and cryptocurrencies.
- In the United States, the functionality provides access to five partners: Interactive Brokers, Kraken, Coinbase, Moomoo and Gemini.
- The user remains redirected to the broker or exchange to place their order. X therefore does not itself become a brokerage platform.
Cashtags that now lead to crypto trading
Cashtags have made it possible for several months to consult the price of a stock or a cryptocurrency directly on
The new “Trade” button adds an extra step. After clicking on a Cashtag, the user can view the chart and then choose the trading option. It is then sent to the site or application of the selected partner in order to place the order.
The assets involved span both traditional finance and the crypto market. Partners include Interactive Brokers and Moomoo for financial markets, as well as Coinbase, Kraken and Gemini for cryptos.
The interest in X is quite obvious: a discussion about bitcoin, a stock or an ETF can now lead to a trading platform much more quickly. The social network thus seeks to reduce the distance between the discovery of an asset and the user’s action.
X wants to bring information and execution closer together
This development reinforces the role of X in the circulation of financial information. The platform is already widely used to track market movements, company announcements and trader reactions in real time.
With these trading links, a viral publication can therefore directly attract attention to an asset, then direct the user to a broker or exchange. For partner platforms, this also represents a new way to reach an audience already interested in the markets.
This proximity between information and trading can, however, encourage decisions made in haste, particularly when markets are evolving quickly. However, X does not become a broker: its role remains that of a bridge between financial conversations and the platforms capable of executing orders.
With Cashtags and the “Trade” button, Elon Musk’s network continues to bring market discussions closer to their practical application. The rollout could further evolve as X expands its program to more users and partners.
