Michael Saylor warned: “Think even Bigger”. He kept his word. Strategy has just made its third largest purchase of bitcoin in its history, propelling its holdings well beyond the symbolic threshold of 800,000 BTC. An accumulation machine that clearly doesn't know how to brake.

In brief

  • Strategy acquired 34,164 BTC for $2.54 billion between April 13 and 19, 2026.
  • This is the company's third-largest bitcoin purchase ever.
  • The firm now holds 815,061 BTC, purchased for a total of $61.56 billion.

Michael Saylor Accelerates Further With Major Bitcoin Acquisition

Strategy made the transaction official on Monday via a Form 8-K filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Concretely, between April 13 and 19, 2026, the company acquired 34,164 bitcoins at an average price of $74,395 per unit, for a total amount of $2.54 billion.

A figure that impresses. It places this purchase in the third historical rank of Strategy acquisitions, behind the 55,500 BTC and the 51,780 BTC purchased in November 2024. A week earlier, the firm had already committed a billion dollars for an additional 13,927 BTC.

In total, Strategy now holds 815,061 BTCacquired for $61.56 billion, or an average price of $75,527 per bitcoin. The symbolic milestone of 800,000 BTC has been crossed, and the next purchase already seems to be in the starting blocks.

However, the signal was readable on Sunday. Michael Saylor had published his now famous “Orange Dots” graphic on X, accompanied by three words: “Think even Bigger”. However since 2020, this graph invariably precedes a purchase announcement within 48 hours. The markets were not mistaken.

STRC, the financial engine behind the accumulation machine

The method of financing this acquisition deserves attention. Of the 2.54 billion committed, 2.18 billion, or 85.7%, come from the preferred stock STRC, Strategy's variable dividend share. The remaining $366 million was raised through sales of Class A common stock (MSTR).

STRC has also broken several records over the period. On April 13, Strategy recorded a historic day with approximately 7,741 BTC purchased in a single session, thanks to the sale of 11.9 million shares through its ATM program.

The next day, she already surpassed this record with an additional 9,364 BTC. Over these two days alone, the cumulative volume reached 17,204 BTC, up 518% compared to the average of the previous four weeks.

This mechanism is at the heart of the Saylor machine: raising capital via innovative financial instruments, then deploying it massively in Bitcoin, without diluting historical shareholders, without touching ordinary shares.

Strategy also announced on Friday its intention to submit to a vote of shareholders, at the annual meeting on June 8, the transition to STRC dividends paid twice a month.

Phong Le, CEO of the company, assumes the ambition bluntly: “ We would be the only preferred company in the world to pay bi-monthly dividends. » A world first which would also strengthen the attractiveness of the title among institutional investors.

In short, 815,061 BTC in the portfolio, $61.56 billion invested, a well-established financing model and liquidity still available: Strategy is not slowing down. Michael Saylor's firm continues to redefine what it means to hold bitcoin on an institutional scale. The next orange graph will, unsurprisingly, point even higher.
