Silent Protocol Deploys 0VM on Ethereum, Key Infrastructure for Global Network Privacy
Summarize this article with:

With 0VM now enabled and bringing Ghost Layer to life — the world's first confidential and secure value transfer layer — Silent Protocol is realizing its mission: to encrypt Ethereum.

A man stands on a rooftop, overlooking a futuristic urban grid connected by glowing nodes, while a glowing zero in the shape of Ethereum hovers above the network.

Silent Protocol – October 27, 2025 — Silent Protocol today announced the mainnet (v1) launch of 0VM, its general-purpose zero-knowledge computing layer, now deployed on Ethereum.

This update introduces Anonymous Verification, a major cryptographic advancement that finally resolves the economic limits of retransmitting private transactions. It also constitutes the essential infrastructure of Ghost Layer, the confidential value transfer system developed by Silent.

Powered by 0VM, Ghost Layer is designed as Layer 1.5 — the first secure value transfer layer for Ethereum, built on the EZEE framework. Its main functionality, called TransferToNonSilentallows you to send encrypted funds to any external account (EOA) confidentially, which the recipient can then claim. This innovation considerably broadens the scope of confidential interactions on Ethereum.

It makes privacy universal and not optional — a radical departure from UTXO mixers or dedicated privacy blockchains. But this progress is only possible thanks to 0VM: without Anonymous Verification, it would be impossible to pay for gas without revealing the identity of the user or fragmenting their assets.

0VM thus establishes itself as one of the major technological pillars of Silent Protocol to encrypt the entirety of Ethereum.

Why 0VM is a must-have infrastructure for Ethereum privacy

0VM Anonymous Verification, activated by a decentralized root network based on a threshold ECDSA signature, guarantees relayers a verifiable payment without ever having access to the identity of the users. It opens the way to new capabilities, impossible with old relay models like Gast Network or Tornado Cash:

  • Private NFT transfers : the torchbearers are paid via a contract paymaster separated, and not from the NFT.
  • Universal confidential payments : gas is prepaid and validated excluding payload, guaranteeing confidentiality.
  • Resistance to censorship : any relay can participate, without a trusted third party.
  • Expandable Privacy : version 1 supports Anonymous Verification on Ethereum; decentralized multi-chain support is planned as a next step.

In summary, Ghost Layer's vision for global privacy cannot exist without 0VM: it is the decentralized, trustless engine that makes confidential, composable, and truly user-controlled Ethereum transactions possible.

About Silent Protocol

Silent Protocol builds the privacy backbone for the next generation of Ethereum. Its technology stack, built around 0VM and Ghost Layer, enables on-chain interactions that are confidential, scalable and truly owned by users, without compromising on decentralization. Backed by Sora Ventures, Zee Prime and Hypersphere, Silent pursues a unique mission: to encrypt Ethereum.
