Sam Altman, the CEO of Openai, has just announced important updates concerning the evolution of its artificial intelligence models, with the upcoming arrival of GPT-4.5 and GPT-5. This new roadmap aims to simplify the user experience and unify the different technologies developed by the company.

OPENAI prepares the launch of GPT-4.5 and GPT-5
After humiliating Elon Musk on the purchase of Openai, Sam Altman announces that the next model to deploy will be GPT-4.5, known internally by code name “Orion”. This model will mark the end of an era, being the last to not integrate the so-called Chain-Of-Thought logic (chain of thought). This type of reasoning allows AI models to follow intermediate steps to answer complex questions, thus improving their capacity for analysis and problem solving.
Sam Altman said In his recent note that one of the main objectives of Openai is to eliminate the complexity of the different versions and to propose a more fluid and intuitive artificial intelligence. With the upcoming arrival of GPT-5, the O-Series and GPT-series models will be merged to provide a more homogeneous and efficient experience. This version will especially know when taking more time to think and when responding instantly, depending on the nature of the task.
In addition, GPT-5 will be integrated into Chatgpt and the Openai API, thus replacing O3, which will no longer be available as a separate model. This update will also bring major improvements by incorporating several advanced technologies such as voice, canvas (an interactive interface), research, and even in -depth analytical capacities.
Improved accessibility for all users
Another great novelty concerns the availability of GPT-5. OPENAI has confirmed that the free Chatgpt version will offer unlimited access to GPT-5, with a standard level of intelligence, subject to certain restrictions against abuse.
For chatgpt plus subscribers, GPT-5 will operate at a higher level of intelligence, while pro users will benefit from even greater power. This differentiation will allow users with more advanced needs to enjoy an ever more efficient AI.
Although the release date of these different models has not yet been set, Sam Altman still revealed that it would be a weekly question for GPT-4.5 and month for GPT-5. With this new approach combined with its recent collaboration with American national laboratories, Openai wishes to make artificial intelligence more fluid, more intuitive and above all more accessible to all.
