NFT scam: These young school children became rich overnight

They attend high school but are already rich like Croesus. How did they get to this stage? By using unorthodox techniques such as NFT scams based on phishing. At this moment, several million dollars have landed in their hands. And you’ll never guess how they squander their ill-gotten gains.

Very young NFT drainers

Gang arrest at PlugWalkJoe made it known that bitcoin and NFT scams have already captured the hearts of young people. As for NFT drainers, their numbers keep growing, according to The Block.

By relaying statistics on PeckShield, this crypto-blockchain media clarified that in total:

  • NFT scamers were able to steal NFTs and tokens fromapproximately $73 million ;
  • some 32,000 wallets were mined in just 9 months;
  • around 900 Discord servers were affected;
  • etc

As for the victims, they can go well-known companies such as Orbiter France, Flare, Evmos, LiFi, etc., up to the crypto wallets like Zerion and personalities like Steve Aoki.

According to security researcher Plum:

95% of them are young people under 18 and they are still in high school. I have personally spoken to several of them and know that they are still in school. I have seen photos and videos of several of them in their schools. They talk about their teachers, about them failing their classes or having to do their homework “.

How do they achieve such feats?

The heavy assessment mentioned above is the result ofevil deeds on Telegram, Discord and Twitter. Most of the time, young NFT scammers get in touch with developers, with false identities. Once trusted, the latter authorize them to sell drainers (set of codes to integrate into a website). In return, the scammers promise to donate 20 to 30% of the revenue to the developer-vendors.

Unfortunately, this transfer heralds the beginning of misadventures for the developer. Orbiter France paid the costs. Last May, the Discord moderators of this company were contacted by a fake crypto reporter. He just asked filling out a form on occasion.

Don’t think its NFT scammers are few. Lately, PeckShield has mentioned the existence of:

  • Monkey (2,200 NFTs stolen, or more than $15 million);
  • Venom (2,000 NFTs drained and over 15,000 kills);
  • BlockDev (which stole $14,000 from Venom);
  • Pink;
  • Hell;
  • Pussy;
  • Etc.

How do they squander the money earned from NFT scams?

They buy a laptop, phones, shoes and spend huge amounts of money on Roblox. They all play Roblox for the most part. This allows them to afford THE coolest gear for their Roblox avatar, video games, skins and stuff like that “says Plum.

THE betting on online poker gamesas Drake used to do on Stake.com, are also part of their hobbies.
