NFT Paris: A rare opportunity to meet those behind the BAYC

On February 24 and 25, NFT Paris will bring together the most emblematic players in the ecosystem, including the co-founder of the Bored Ape Yacht Club, or BAYC. First-time fans, enthusiasts, those who discover and want to understand this emerging industry, investors… Everyone will have the opportunity to meet the leaders of the most influential NFT companies.

Go beyond social networks, interact directly with ecosystem players

The organizers of NFT Betting created the event to allow the community to meet key players in the ecosystem. Even those with whom she interacts on social networks and ad hoc forums. This type of event is also presented as an opportunity to discover new projects, to create networking (between entrepreneurs, investors, collectors, etc.).

During the first edition in January 2022, the event brought together 800 participants. For the second edition scheduled for February 24 and 25, the organizers are expecting up to 8,000 people. NFT Paris will see the participation of the cream of the ecosystem: NFT business leaders, collectors, major brands like LVMH who are actively involved in Web3…

The NFT market has literally exploded over the past two years. Artists were the first to ride the trend, coming up with digital works that sell for millions of dollars. Startups and big brands have also understood the potential of NFT.

They were quick to explore and exploit the endless business opportunities offered by non-fungible tokens. Photographs, GIFs, virtual properties, metaverse, online games, collectibles, fashion items (creation by famous or anonymous designers), sports videos and facts, art… NFTs and Web3 are reshaping the commercial, cultural and artistic landscape .

NFT Paris: the co-founder of BAYC will intervene as a speaker

For the second edition of NFT Paris, CryptoGarga, the co-founder of the famous BAYC, will participate in the event. Greg Solano, his real name, joined forces with Wylie Aronow to create Yuga Labs and launch the BAYC (Bored Ape Yacht Club). This is a collection of 10,000 unique bored monkeys that have sold for over $1 billion.

Yuga Labs was created in 2021. Beyond BAYC, the company has other NFT collections (Mutant Ape Yacht Club, Bored Ape Kennel Club, CryptoPunks, Meebits) as well as a metaverse project called Otherside. Together, these collections rise to the top of the charts in terms of sales volume.

For the record, one BAYC was selling for 0.08 Ethereum (ETH), or around $220 when it debuted in 2021. As it gained popularity on Twitter, the collection grew in value. The price exploded and the sales volume quickly increased.

In just a few months, the company of Greg Solano and his team has seen a meteoric rise, and it’s not over. BAYC was ranked the best NFT project of 2022 by Nansen in terms of market capitalization and cultural impact. The co-founder of Yuga Labs will have the opportunity to talk about this success story and other upcoming projects during the next NFT Paris.

Who is Greg Solano, one of the co-founders of BAYC?

Greg Solano probably remains one of the most anticipated speakers at NFT Paris. Before the final date, here is a brief presentation of one of the people behind the famous BAYC collections. In view of his course, Greg Solano (just like his friend Wylie Aronow for that matter), was not predestined to evolve in the NFT ecosystem and in the Web3 universe.

Greg Solano has indeed made a literary course at the University of Virginia. He then worked as an editor and literary critic. In 2019, for example, he co-published a book on World of Warcraft. Coding and creating blockchain-based projects was certainly not part of his environment, until his first foray into the cryptosphere in 2017. That year, he and Wylie Aronown bought bitcoin (BTC) and ether (ETH).

It was like a click. While looking for ideas to capitalize their assets, the two friends quickly understood the potential of cryptos and especially NFTs. They then decide to join forces with two other computer engineers: Kerem aka Emperor Tomato Ketchup and Zeshan aka No Sass. The four of them created Yuga Labs to mint the first Bored Apes.

Understanding the popularity of BAYC

The Bored Apes are published as collections. A collection contains between 1,000 and 10,000 individual NFTs. As a collectible grows in popularity, demand for a limited good drives the price up. Because there will only ever be 10,000 BAYC and millions of NFT investors want one, the collection is becoming more and more valuable, creating increased demand.

With BAYC, the creators also had the idea of creating a community spirit: the regulators join an exclusive club. This social aspect brings value to collections, especially when you consider that many investors are celebrities.

In the world of showbiz, for example, Justin Bieber, Snoop Dogg or Eminem proudly display their NFT on social networks. The big names in sport like Neymar or Serena Williams are not left out. This community participates in the hype of the Bored Ape Yacht Club which then continues to grow in popularity.

This popularity of BAYC has largely contributed to the massive adoption of NFTs, but not only. The phenomenon has also made it possible to establish the confidence of investors, and not just individuals. Some of the biggest brands have realized that NFTs will help shape the future of culture. Disney, Adidas, Nike… They all want to be part of it.

You will have the opportunity to discover and discuss the full potential of NFTs during the NFT Paris event to be held at the Grand Palais Éphémère. Tickets are already available on the official website of the event. See you on February 24 and 25.
