With the bear market that we are currently experiencing and in the midst of a crisis of confidence, the CEX (centralized exchanges, or centralized exchanges) must do their best to assure investors of their seriousness. In this exclusive interview with Tremplin.io, we come back with Ambroise Helaine, Country Manager of Young Platform on the fundamentals of investment according to them and the (re)born need to secure one’s funds.
What would you recommend to readers about investing based on your professional experience? How should they direct their research in this area, and what tools do they have to do so?
Our mission is not to distill investment advice to our users, but to provide them with what they need to do so with peace of mind. In your opinion, what aspect should a user focus on when choosing to invest in a project?
Above all, the user must keep in mind that he should only invest the money he is ready to lose, and this, regardless of the project.
We are currently in a particularly unstable period marked by the raising of key rates and an intensification of regulation of the sector. Therefore, fundamental analyzes and the usual techniques are no longer sufficient weapons to navigate the market.
Our users must then take an interest in the project they have targeted and better understand them like any capital investor. Elements such as the project’s mission, its vision and the team leading it will have to guide their choice more, to the detriment of the evolution of the price of a crypto asset.
You advocate responsible investment with complete peace of mind thanks to the education of your users. Is this philosophy realistic?
We basically rely on our platform to not leave our users at the mercy of the FUD and FOMO plaguing the crypto market. In practice :
- The cryptocurrencies present on Young Platform are carefully selected by us, with the aim of preserving the user experience and avoiding Rugs.
- The minimum time scale offered to our users is 24 hours. This choice is the one that best suits the French given their habits. There is no point in encouraging them to visualize their investments every minute to generate unnecessary stress for them with each micro fluctuation.
- We offer our various users Hodl Plans that meet the wealth objectives of our users, with the key to a relevant investment schedule specific to each investor.
- Our users also have other features on our platform that allow them to invest, without getting too emotionally involved.
All of the points listed work together to provide users of our platform with protection against FUD and FOMO.
You have a laid back approach to crypto investing. What is the reason ?
Unlike most of our peers, we advocate for long-term wealth investing, rather than the short-term approach that exposes you to the effects of FUD and FOMO.
With the multitude of assets present on the market, only 10% of users taking their first step into trading manage to preserve part of their initial investments.
They are attracted by the risky products promising high returns that are so well presented by the historical platforms. These, which are however too focused on volatility especially with Margin trading, only increase the probability of capital loss.
This reality does not spare the crypto ecosystem whose members are often victims of a category of influencer traders. Under cover of DYOR and NFA (Non financial advice), the latter promote the latest altcoin of the moment without worrying about the resulting losses for their followers.
While the latter’s wallets and sanity take a hit, the Hodlers’ track record of BTC over 4+ years shows that they suffered no losses on their initial investments. This finding deserves consideration.
From there, we can only be convinced of the relevance and effectiveness of the peaceful approach to investment.
Still on the subject of the security of your users, what functionalities have you developed for this purpose on your platform? Finally, the transparency of the platform in which the investor places his trust being more essential than ever, what have you done to guarantee this to your users?
The collapse of FTX has brought the issue of security of user funds back to the forefront.
This is a blessing in disguise and will ensure the sustainability of the market, as current user dissatisfaction will push platforms to further develop their security to show that they are trustworthy.
AT Young Platform, we consider security to be an essential pillar of the ecosystem. We content ourselves with jealously guarding users’ funds, which are strictly separated from those of the company. The tokens listed on the platform have been methodically selected for their reliability and the relevance of their importance on the market. There is therefore no question of exposing our users at the first corner.
