
It’s official ! The Dogecoin (DOGE) building block is getting a new update. Via his Twitter account, the developer himself wanted to make a long explanation. The purpose of this approach was to allow users to better understand the update and what it entails.
LibDogecoin in a nutshell
At the beginning of March, it was announced quite spectacular growth of Dogecoin. The crypto market capitalization was significantly higher than that of Credit Suisse. To continue this momentum, the developer of Dogecoin announces the update of LibDogecoin.
LibDogecoin is a simple C library that allows Dogecoin to be directly integrated into many platforms. The LibDogecoin v.0.1 has been launched in august. Its development continued with version 0.1.1 which then evolved into version 0.1.2, the current version.
The highlights of the new Dogecoin update
According to details published on GitHub as well as on the Dogecoin developer’s Twitter feed, the new update will bring some notable changes. She understands new features and fixes (truncation fixes). But not only ! It also includes memory integrity checks.
Thanks to this update, LibDogecoin will be able to:
- Support seed phrase generation to and from keys in many languages;
- Correctly derive keys and addresses;
- Generate QR codes on the fly without the need for additional library.
The message signature has also seen a change. Indeed, LibDogecoin will now support signing and verifying messages. The same is true for transactions. Added to this are notable improvements in dependencies and network awareness.
The new update will undoubtedly optimize the performance of the Dogecoin building block. Besides, the next version 0.1.3 will be out soon. A great way for Dogecoin to recover after the unfortunate incident of March 16!
