Travala has just launched Travel MCP, a protocol allowing an AI to search for, book and pay for a hotel with almost no human intervention. The system covers more than 2.2 million establishments in 230 countries, including Marriott, Hilton and IHG. Now, a traveler can chat with Claude and let the assistant manage searches, comparisons and reservations in a single conversational thread.
This advancement is based on Base, the blockchain backed by Coinbase. Payments use the x402 protocol and are made in USDC with fees close to one cent. Unlike many crypto solutions, no additional tokens are required to pay network fees.
