Polygon, in bad shape? The news of departure of Jaynti Kanani falls into a context where the company prepares to launch Polygon 2.0. Of the 4 people behind this sidechain project supposed to evolve the mother blockchain Ethereum, 2 left, and this within an interval of 6 months. What is really happening? Investigation !
Polygon, another co-founder leaves the ship
As we gradually approach theadvent of Polygon 2.0where decentralization will completely reign, we have learned that 2 of its captains have thrown in the towel.
“ After launching Polygon in 2017, about six months ago, I decided to take a step back from day-to-day activities.
I am more than confident in the bright future of Polygon and its passionate community. I will focus on new adventures by continuing to encourage and contribute to Polygon from behind the scenes.
I am optimistic for Polygon 2.0! »
According to Daily Coin, this departure of Jaynti Kanani comes six months after that of Anurag Arjung. The latter being another co-author of the project white paper Polygon.
According to his post on Twitter (formerly X), Kanani was thinking of resigning at the same time as his friend Arjung. It is very likely that the other 2 co-founders tried the impossible, to hold him back, during the last 6 months.
Sandeep Nailwal, one of the main developers in whose hands the future of Polygon will depend, did not fail to demonstrate his disappointment publicly.
“ It makes me emotional. What an adventure we had together, brother. But this is only the beginning for Polygon, I wish we could do more and longer together in this crazy journey that is Polygon. But hey, you have to do what you have to do. Let’s continue to move Polygon forward together, inside or outside of Polygon Labs, it doesn’t matter. Let’s continue killing the legend! »
So the blues always hit when a colleague leaves.
An imminent storm on Polygon’s side?
This departure from Kanani may seem banal if it were not contextualized. Indeed, there were already other resignations well before his announcement. We have already cited that of Arjung. But let’s also not forget that Ryan Watt, the president of Polygon Labs, already capitulated well before the two co-founders of Polygon.
“ Lol, first Ryan Watt (President of Polygon Labs and head of Web3 thingies) is leaving, now another co-founder of $MATIC has left.
This departure rhythm smells like FTX. »
And no member of the crypto community is ready to forget how the fall of FTX affected investors and the industry as a whole.
Can we hope that Sandeep Nailwal and Mihailo Bjelic will be able to bring the boat Polygon and MATIC (recently renamed POL) to port together? Why not. Most of Ethereum’s co-founders have already abandoned the blockchain project, and yet it remains among the best protocols around.
