Crypto: Paris Saint-Germain initiates NFT posters for 7 matches

The data shows a substantial drop in enthusiasm around NFTs. However, these digital assets still constitute options for many crypto analysts, but also for large organizations like Paris Saint-Germain (PSG). Beyond its stature in the world of football, the club from the French capital relies heavily on its commercial image.

In short

  • Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is launching NFT posters for 7 of its matches, in collaboration with the Crypto.com platform and the artist Benjamin Benichou.
  • The posters, created via artificial intelligence, aim to increase fan engagement by offering original prints and exclusive benefits like signed jerseys and VIP tickets.
  • This initiative is part of the club’s desire to offer innovative experiences to its community of supporters.

NFT PSG posters, generated by artificial intelligence

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) FC unveiled this Thursday, September 21, its new initiative focused on Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs). In reality, it is a collaborative project involving the Crypto.com platform, and essentially focused on the creation of PSG match posters.

These posters are the fruit of the work of Benjamin Benichou. He is an artist based in the United States who is notable for his artistic use of artificial intelligence (AI), generative in this case.

The latter serves, among other things, to produce unique designs with a single ambition. That of promoting closer and original relationships between brands and their community. This, by offering game-changing options for online commerce.

Thus, Benjamin Benichou, who is also the co-founder and boss of the Drop firm, created, using AI, 1,970 authentic drawings. Only seven of them were selected as part of PSG’s NFT initiative. They will be used to create a collection of 7 posters.

These will gradually be made public during seven official PSG matches this season. The first of this series to be revealed during the capital club’s next match, against its rival Olympique de Marseille (OM).

A way for PSG to connect with its audience?

The ambition of this initiative is clear. In reality, the poster collection will be made available as an NFT. Assets that fans will have access to by completing the series. They would then benefit from original prints by the artist Benjamin Benichou.

They will also be able to benefit from free PSG jerseys, as well as VIP tickets for the club’s last match of the season, scheduled to take place at home. At first glance, it is a way for PSG to consolidate its links with its fan base and its supporters. But the ambition seems to go beyond that.

Innovation and art are part of the DNA of Paris Saint-Germain. We are delighted with this first experience, the result is impressive. This collaboration with Benjamin Benichou allowed us to better understand this new tool which, when put at the service of creation, opens up an unimaginable field of possibilities. By continuing to explore new frontiers, Paris Saint-Germain strives to redefine the future of sport, opening up new perspectives for new generations of supporters. said Fabien Allègre, PSG’s brand director.
