After months of waiting, the main creditors of FTX finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. The bankrupt Crypto platform has announced that reimbursements are continuing from May 30, 2025. An announcement highly awaited by major investors, who hoped for a return to their frozen assets.

It is a key moment for the thousands of investors injured since the collapse of the Crypto Exchange in 2022. FTX managed to bring together $ 11.4 billion in cash, a jackpot that will finally be used to compensate for the colossal losses of its creditors.
Not all are housed in the same brand. Those whose claims exceed $ 50,000 – financial institutions, businesses, or large carriers – will be priority in this new wave of payments. These reimbursements will be added to those already started in February 2025 for small creditors, that is to say those below the $ 50,000 mark.
Refunds … Yes, but at what price?
These reimbursements will not be made of crypto, but in dollars. And that's where the rub for some. An example: a Bitcoin receivable holder will be compensated on the basis of the BTC value at the time of bankruptcy, almost five times less than its current value. In other words, reimbursements would just covered 20 % of the market price today.
The process is in place, creditors are invited to confirm their information and follow the administrative stages defined by the liquidator. No precise deadline for the end of payments, but the machine is launched.
A partial relief and a symbolic turning point for FTX
This partial return of funds represents relief for many investors. It also marks a symbolic step in the long FTX soap opera, which has become emblematic of the drifts of the Crypto market.
FTX's reimbursement therefore turns a painful page for thousands of investors. If the losses will not be fully filled, the gesture is a little breath to the crypto sector. Meanwhile, Sam Bankman-Fried is still detained in prison and has even been transferred in secret after a shock revelation.
