Binance will close the accounts of its French customers as of December 31, 2026. The crypto platform informed its users by email, after failing to obtain its European MiCA approval. More bad news: from November 29, accounts still containing cryptocurrencies will be subject to a monthly fee of 0.025%, with a minimum of 10 USDC. Customers must now arrange to withdraw their funds.

In brief
- Binance France announces the closure of customer accounts as of December 31, 2026.
- A monthly fee of 0.025%, with a minimum of 10 USDC, will apply starting November 29.
- The lack of MiCA approval forces Binance France to end its activities.
Binance France will close accounts on December 31
The decision marks a new stage in Binance’s regulatory difficulties. Since July, the crypto exchange can no longer offer its usual services to French residents. In September, however, he was considering a return to France thanks to approval from the AMF.
This return has not yet taken place. In an email reported on November 6 by Cryptoast and CryptoActu, Binance France announced the closure of accounts as of December 31. Users must withdraw their cryptocurrencies before this deadline.
The platform also reminds that deposits are no longer allowed. Any attempt may result in transaction rejection, network fees, or additional time to recover assets. Withdrawals remain available. Binance specifies that accounts still containing funds after December 31 may be considered inactive.
The remaining cryptocurrencies may then be converted, transferred or otherwise processed in accordance with the terms of use. The platform does not, however, specify the exact terms of these possible conversions. Customers should therefore not wait until the last day to organize their withdrawals.
A minimum fee of 10 USDC starting November 29
The closure of accounts is not the only news announced. Binance is also introducing monthly management fees for users who will hold assets in their French accounts.
The calculation will begin on November 29. The amount corresponds to 0.025% of the balance, with a minimum of 10 USDC per withdrawal. Binance will systematically retain the highest amount.
For a $1,000 wallet, the fees will therefore be 10 USDC, not 0.25 USDC. From approximately $40,000 in balance, the percentage begins to exceed this minimum Two withdrawals are announced before closing: the first within three days following November 29 and the second after December 24.
Fees will be taken first from available USDC. If the account does not contain enough, Binance may use other cryptocurrencies. A balance of less than 10 USDC could even be fully absorbed.
Users who have withdrawn all their funds before November 29 will not be affected by these new management fees. This deadline comes at a time when the MiCA regulation has profoundly changed the conditions of activity of crypto platforms in Europe. For small holders, the 10 USDC minimum can quickly add up to a significant portion of funds held.
Lack of MiCA license pushes Binance towards the exit
Since May 2022, Binance France has been among the digital asset service providers registered with the Financial Markets Authority. However, this status was no longer sufficient after the end of the transitional period of the European MiCA regulation.
Since July 1, 2026, providers must have appropriate authorization to continue providing crypto services in the European Union. Binance did not obtain this authorization in time. The AMF officially noted the lapse of its French registration on July 2, 2026, as part of the end of the transitional regime.
The platform had previously withdrawn a license application filed in Greece. She then planned to present a new file in France. However, no approval has made it possible to resume the activities of Binance France.
This situation concerns the French entity and does not mean that Binance is closing all its international operations. The Platform continues to operate in other jurisdictions, subject to applicable local permissions and restrictions.
For French clients, two dates now count: November 29 to avoid management fees and December 31 to withdraw assets before the announced closure of the accounts. Users should also verify their chosen addresses and networks before each transfer to avoid any loss of cryptocurrencies.
The closure comes after several months of uncertainty over the future of Binance in France. Tremplin.io had already detailed the changes imposed on French crypto investors by MiCA and the new regulatory obligations. This time the release date is announced. Customers must recover their funds without waiting for a possible reopening of services.
