Last Wednesday, Decrypt Studios presented the first Crypties awards ceremony. The event, which celebrates excellence in the blockchain industry, took place in Miami Beach at the Faena Forum Ballroom. Joshua Ostrovsky, aka The Fat Jewish, served as the evening’s emcee. Here are the highlights of this warm event, which contrasts with the cold prevailing in the crypto market.
The Crypties Awards Night Winners
For the opening of the ceremony, there was an “in memoriam” honoring stars who lost money in the crypto sector. Among the latter, there is Odell Beckham Jr who recorded a considerable loss by approving a payment in BTC. There is also Kim Kardashian, who was fined $1.26 million for illegally promoting EthereumMax.
Later, several blockchain projects received price. Among these projects are Crypto Unicorns which was voted game of the year. Another winner of the evening is Celo which received the Social Impact Award. Furthermore, Coinbase Ventures was elected investor of the year and Bored Ape Yacht ClubNFT project of the year.
Furthermore, Rebecca Barkin, the president of Lamina1, indicated that there is a need for more female leadership in the crypto community. She also talked about the blockchain project she is developing to foster a more open metaverse economy. She explained: “Our goal is to give creators a path to a better economy“.
FTX bankruptcy was discussed in this crypto event
During the Crypties awards ceremony, the issue of FTX’s bankruptcy was discussed. Alanna Roazzi-Laforet, Founder of Decrypt Studios, said:It’s a tough time because of what’s going on with FTX. But it shows that there is a commitment to this space“. She added: “people are very enthusiastic» and that they wish «show their innovations and show that they are moving forward in a positive way“.
Separately, Izzy Howell, the founder of PussyDAO, talked about her plans for lingerie-related NFTs. She launched, before the start of the ceremony, an NFT that could be exchanged for a pair of physical panties.
