In a tweet this Thursday, Hoskinson said that Hydra is progressing wonderfully on the mainnet. He also slammed Ethereum, saying its own Layer 2 ecosystem is overtaking them, making its programming model look lousy. While for its part, Cardano’s Sidechain plans announce a beautiful era in perspective.
For him, there is no doubt that Cardano will soon become the fastest system in the world and he is confident that the Hydra project will succeed. If Charles Hoskinson made such comments, it was in response to a comment from a user. The latter questioned the blockchain roadmap and criticized its alleged similarity with Ethereum (ETH).
The project is progressing on the right track
As a reminder, the first mainnet-enabled Hydra node was released on May 11, 2023. Regarding adoption, data from Cardano Scan indicate that the blockchain currently processes an average of 65,000 transactions per day, or 0.75 transactions per second.
Ethereum, for its part, has processed no less than one million transactions in the last 24 hours, the equivalent of 12.45 transactions per second. It remains to be seen if the Hydra project will be as successful as Charles Hoskinson hopes. However, it is clear that Hydra has the potential to make Cardano (ADA) a much more powerful and efficient blockchain.
Moreover, in addition to Hydra, Cardano is also working on other scalability solutions. These are Mithril and the Babel protocol. These solutions have the potential to make Cardano even more scalable and affordable.
