Blockchain: The Nigerian government has launched a training program for 30,000 people

Over the past few years, Nigerian authorities have shown their opposition to blockchain technology, cryptos, etc. But that has not stopped Nigerians from taking advantage of the solutions offered by this technology. Faced with the mass adoption that the country is experiencing, the authorities seem to have decided to change their minds.

Accelerate adoption of blockchain technology

In Nigeria, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) is getting into blockchain. In partnership with Domineum, a British provider of blockchain solutions, it has spear a program to train 30,000 Nigerians in blockchain technology. The objective of the government agency is, on the one hand, to accelerate the adoption of this technology in the country. On the other hand, it is about making Nigeria a top player in the industry and producing solution providers as part of the fourth industrial revolution.

The information was given by NITDA Director General Kashifu Inuwa and relayed by Radio Nigeria. The latter encouraged his fellow citizens to take advantage of this opportunity offered by the government.

The official announcement of the agency

Mohammed Jega, co-founder of the blockchain solutions provider, said he was delighted with the announcement and touted its merits for Nigeria. He reiterated his entity’s commitment to produce “quality education and to provide participants with the skills necessary to build real blockchain solutions (…) Blockchain is here to stay for a long time and we are quickly moving away from traditional procedures for digital transformation procedures”.

Registrations began on October 31 and should end on November 28. Classes are scheduled to start on 1er October, according to NITDA details. The program will be delivered in a hybrid mode. That is to say that there will be virtual and physical meetings. This, in all 36 states of the federation.

According to our source, learners who complete this training will have the opportunity to participate in an incubation program in London. Others will be exposed to the Bitcoin Satoshi Vision (BSV) ecosystem, where they can participate in various development projects.
