Bitcoin continues its rebound and is now approaching $72,000, an increase of around 15% since Monday. The renewed liquidity in the United States and progress around the CLARITY Act are supporting the movement. On the stock market, companies exposed to cryptos also benefit.

In brief
- Bitcoin is close to $72,000, up 15% since Monday.
- Strategy gained 10% in pre-opening, after 13% the day before.
- The next on-chain test is at $75,689, the True Market Mean.
A rally pushed by the Treasury and the White House
Bitcoin only took barely 24 hours to go from 65,000 to more than 71,000 dollars. It is now at the threshold of $72,000. Three powerful catalysts had already accompanied the start of the rise. Since then, two additional elements have supported the market: US Treasury debt purchases and the return of the CLARITY Act to the political debate in Washington.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent notably announced bond buybacks. This type of operation puts liquidity back into circulation and can favor risky assets. Bitcoin is benefiting from this: since Monday, its price has increased by 15%, according to figures compiled by CoinDesk.
On the stock side, the movement is just as visible. Strategy gained around 10% in pre-opening Thursday, after having already gained 13% on Wednesday. The company, known for holding the largest reserve of bitcoins among listed companies, also has $4.8 billion in liquidity.
Coinbase is also making progress in pre-opening, as is miner MARA Holdings. Bullish, parent company of CoinDesk, is up 5%, after a jump of more than 9% the day before. For now, crypto stocks therefore remain closely driven by the bitcoin recovery.
75,689 dollars, the level that the market must break
Bitcoin’s return above $71,000 allowed it to recapture several levels closely observed by analysts.
The first is at $67,138. It corresponds to the average cost price of short-term holders, those who have owned their BTC for less than 155 days. With the price now moving above this zone, these investors have generally returned to profit.
Another threshold recovered: the 200-day moving average, currently around $68,969. Often used to assess the underlying trend, it is once again found below the price of bitcoin.
Now there remains a more difficult level: $75,689. It corresponds to the True Market Mean, an indicator which attempts to estimate the average cost of bitcoins actually active on the market, notably excluding coins that are lost or have remained immobile for a long time.
A lasting move above this threshold would reinforce the idea of a more profound change in trend. It would also place a larger share of active investors in a situation of unrealized gains.
In the short term, the zone between $71,000 and $75,689 will therefore be particularly monitored. As long as bitcoin remains above $70,000, the rebound maintains favorable momentum. But the American political context remains a risk factor. Donald Trump is currently pressing the Senate to move forward on the CLARITY Act. A further blocking of the text could cool some of the current enthusiasm.
