Web3: Ukraine, a next great power?

Sandeep Nailwal, the co-founder of Polygon, is embarking on a new adventure with Beacon, a start-up accelerator. Thanks to this program, he aims to boost the start-ups which will become the next unicorns of the Web3 ecosystem.

Beacon: 12 weeks of acceleration for early-stage start-ups

Sandeep Nailwal, the co-founder of Polygon, has just announced the launch of Beacon, a Web3 start-up accelerator. He describes this program as “an accelerator built by the founders of web3 for the founders of web3”. Beacon helps accelerate early-stage start-ups by financing them. Selected projects also benefit from mentorship. For each start-up, the program lasts twelve months.

The Beacon team wants to participate in the success of the start-ups which will be the next unicorns of the Web3 ecosystem. The unicorn refers to a young company less than ten years old, not listed on the stock exchange, which has not been acquired by a third party and which is valued at at least $1 billion. The first participants already started the program in October. This is a group of 30 founders of 15 start-ups. Registration for the next wave is already open. Candidates have until January 31 to register.

Drive mass adoption of Web3

Having himself been accompanied by an accelerator, Binance Labs in this case, Nailwal recognizes the value of such support. The other project founders who accompany young companies, he says, are an invaluable resource for start-ups. With Beacons, “Our ultimate goal is to build the largest network of Web3 founders in the world.” This will help drive mass adoption of Web3.

The program is driven by some of the biggest names in the ecosystem, including Nailwal. The start-ups will also have Uri Stav, former CSO at DCG, as a mentor. Kenzi Wang, co-founder of Symbolic Capital, will also be part of the adventure. The same goes for Jack Lu, co-founder and CEO of Magic Eden (among others). On Twitter, the Beacon team assures that it will publish the good to know about the program as it goes. In any case, we already know that the participants will benefit from good mentoring and funding from Symbolic Capital, the VC co-founded by Nailwal.

The Polygon co-founder unites the leaders of the cryptosphere in this program, which speaks volumes about the ambition of Beacon. Sandeep Nailwal emphasizes that the team selects projects that truly meet user needs. In other words, projects whose adoption is guaranteed.
