It’s hard to beat Google (Alphabet), Apple, Facebook (Meta), Amazon and Microsoft in the field of generative AI. The latest statistics confirm that the largest VC (Venture Capital) investors come far behind GAFAM. Details !
Generative AI, GAFAM in pole position
Apple plans to announce an authentic generative AI project: a program that will use press content able to stand out from the crowd. For its part, Alphabet, via its YouTube video sharing platform, presented, last November, a revolutionary artificial intelligence conversational chatbot.
And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.
At the beginning of the year, Statista reported nearly 80 startups from the AI sector acquired by GAFAM since 2010. 29 projects for Apple, 15 for Alphabet, 13 for Microsoft, 12 for Meta and 7 for Amazon.
Apparently, GAFAM has no intention of letting go.
In a recent publication, Financial Times spoke at length about the changes generative AI is bringing to the tech industry. Cherry on the cake, these innovations have had a positive impact on the financial situation of Big Tech.
Indeed, GAFAM, after losing $3.7 billion, or 40% of their combined value, regained 3.9 billion dollars this year thanks to AI.
Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, did not hesitate to compare ChatGPT with the browser of 30 years ago. “ It’s a click, wow, it’s another day », she exclaimed.
The Google collective was represented by its CEO Sundar Pichai: the latter declared that generative artificial intelligence constitutes the latest avatar of this innovation. It will undoubtedly surpass fire and electricity.
NVIDIA, which is not included in this quintuple, recorded an $800 billion jump. Which seems completely normal given that it monopolizes the market for the chips needed to learn the latest models of artificial intelligence.
In other words, Nvidia’s decline in the bitcoin (BTC) mining sector is not alarming.
