Crypto: The causes of the bug that shook the Avalanche ecosystem finally known!

The Avalanche blockchain is experiencing an abnormal operational situation. She is facing a bug that affects the usual course of activities. One of the leaders of AVA Labs, the crypto firm behind Avalanche, stepped up to explain what is happening and the measures taken to resolve the problem.

An Avalanche crypto bug unrelated to pool management…

The Avalanche blockchain, known for its operational relevance and scalability, is experiencing disruption. The latter appear to be of great magnitude since they led to an outage which affects the execution of its services.

According to the explanations of Kevin Sekniqi, co-founder of AVA Labs, who stepped up to shed light on the situation, the crypto platform suffered a purely technical bug. The disruptions are due to a blockage in the finalization of the blocks.

This, he adds, hinders the acceptance of blocks on the primary network. It is not, he insists, a performance problem, contrary to the rumors which have circulated. But a bug associated with the software code that governs the operation of the Avalanche blockchain.

Despite the current technical challenge of the Avalanche blockchain, it remains capable of functioning normally as a whole. According to Kevin Sekniqi, users can trust the reliability and overall performance of the blockchain. A reassuring position which has no effect on the crypto dynamism of the platform.

Avalanche stability tested by software bug

…But who impacts AVAX, Avalanche’s native crypto?

Certainly, the bug does not affect the overall operation of the Avalanche blockchain. But AVAX, its native crypto, is reaping the skins of the situation. This is evidenced by the decline of the asset in terms of valuation on the crypto market.

During the week, the AVAX crypto fell 12% to trade around $35.55. A substantial drop that signals investor concerns about the stability of the blockchain. This, in a context where Solana recently suffered a similar bug causing fears.

As stakeholders work to provide solutions to the technical issue disrupting Avalanche’s crypto ecosystem, validators are encouraged to update their nodes to Avalanche Go v1.11.1. This is the specific version of client software used to run nodes.

This update aims to resolve the issue by disabling a feature introduced in version 1.10.18. which would cause bandwidth overload. By implementing this update, validators could help restore consensus to the network and mitigate the impact of the disruption.
