Series of airdrops on Solana: Blockchain takes off!

In the crypto ecosystem, these last few weeks have been marked by very strong enthusiasm and dynamism, especially in the DeFi Solana ecosystem. With a bull market that seems to herald a rally, an airdrop launched last Thursday on the Solana blockchain has just achieved an exceptional feat. Details.

Solana ecosystem excited with airdrops

The DeFi platform powered by the Solana blockchain has just made headlines. Last Thursday, it launched an airdrop that distributed $225 million in free tokens to Solana users. In total, 90 million tokens were distributed.

The airdrop was marked by very large participation from Solana DeFi users. According to data from the SolScan platformnearly 54 million tokens have already been claimed from the 90 million tokens distributed.

According to CoinGecko, the token entered the market at an incredible price of $6.01 which brought the 90 million tokens distributed to $540.9 million. The token would then have lost nearly 58% of its market value, currently worth $2.5.

Those who received this airdrop are Solana validators running Jito’s MEV clients, JitoSOL holders, users of Jito’s MEV services. The distribution strategy was such that it encouraged retail traders and fostered inclusion in Solana’s growing DeFi ecosystem.

Airdrops follow one another, the dynamism of the bull market increases

Jito’s airdrop looks eerily similar to one that Pyth Network did recently. This consisted of the distribution of 250 million tokens to the first contributors. These tokens, which were initially worth 77 million, saw their value increase to $107 million, thanks to the current uptrend.

Currently, the Solana community is expecting another airdrop. That of the DeFi Jupiter platform. Jupiter intends to distribute JUP tokens to almost a million people. The date has not yet been confirmed. This recurrence of airdrops reflects the dynamism of the Solana blockchain and suggests a very eventful year 2024 in the crypto and DeFi ecosystems.

This also means that scammers risk taking advantage to make new victims. Moreover, Jito’s website has already been the victim of a DDoS attack. So, if there is no harm in taking advantage of these airdrops, you will have to take appropriate security measures.
