400 million accounts: TRON reaches new adoption record
Summarize this article with:

The Tron network has just reached a new milestone with more than 400 million registered accounts. This progression comes less than three years after reaching 200 million accounts and confirms its growth. Since its launch in June 2018, the network has gradually established itself in stablecoin transfers. Its cumulative volume is approaching $30 trillion, while USDT represents the driving force behind this usage.

Tron doubles its number of accounts in less than three years

The TRON network launched its genesis block in June 2018. It took four years to reach the first 100 million accounts. Then, growth accelerated with the crossing of 200 million in the fourth quarter of 2023. The milestone of 300 million arrived in the second quarter of 2025, before an increase of 100 million in a few months.

On August 23, Tron has therefore exceeded 400 million accounts. This step shows an increase in the base recorded since the launch of the network. Daily data thus sheds different light on the effective use of the blockchain.

Since its launch, the network has processed more than 15.2 billion transactions according to TRANSCAN data. Its total transfer volume is approaching $30 trillion. This activity places the network among the most active settlement systems in the global crypto sector to date. The evolution of the TRX price does not change this measurement, based on operations carried out on the network.

USDT focuses activity and supports payments

The network’s progression seems mainly linked to stablecoins, particularly USDT. Tron currently manages 51.4% of all USDT in circulation. This amount reached $94.2 billion this week, after an increase of around $3 billion in a single day. These figures show the growing weight of digital dollar transfers on the blockchain.

Over the last 30 days, the Tron network has currently recorded an average of 4.64 million active accounts each day. At the same time, the blockchain adds around 170,000 new addresses per day. This dynamic remains high and shows that Tron maintains intense activity linked to payments and stablecoin movements.

According to a Bitcoin News reportTron already captures 52% of low-value USDT transfers globally. This share suggests crucial use for retail payments and cross-border transfers. On the other hand, data on daily activity show a more nuanced situation compared to other networks.

Growth to be put into perspective with activity

The increase to 400 million accounts exceeds the cumulative figures of some older networks. Yet, Ethereum maintains a clear lead when looking at daily active addresses. More than 500,000 addresses transact there every day, compared to around 350,000 for Bitcoin. The total number of accounts and daily activity therefore do not describe exactly the same reality.

In this context, Tron continues a trajectory mainly oriented towards payments and transfers of stablecoins. This specialization explains part of its importance in USDT settlements. It remains to be determined whether this use can gradually extend to other segments of on-chain finance. Future development will depend in particular on the network’s ability to expand uses beyond transfers between wallets.

Separately, Tron Inc., the network’s corporate treasury arm, purchased an additional 145,199 TRX. The company paid an average of $0.3444 per token, bringing its holdings to 711.5 million TRX. Their value reaches approximately 245 million dollars. At the time of writing, the TRX price was trading near $0.3344, for a capitalization of approximately $32.6 billion.

In the short term, the progression of accounts confirms a continued expansion of the ecosystem. However, the comparison with Ethereum shows that cumulative size is not enough to measure the vitality of a network. Tron will therefore need to demonstrate whether its role in USDT payments can support broader diversification. Above all, the evolution of uses will make it possible to measure the real scope of this new direction.
