Visa Crypto: hiring to boost innovation

Visa is increasingly committed to mainstream crypto adoption. The proof, the world leader in digital payment is looking for experienced crypto developers to expand its team. The new recruits will have the role of boosting blockchain technology and stablecoin payments to the general public.

Visa hires experienced crypto developers

The profiles sought: back-end developers and experienced engineers

Just like its first rival, Visa plans to use crypto and CBDC to facilitate online payments. With this in mind, it intends to strengthen its crypto team.

According job offer published on April 25, Visa is reportedly looking for new back-end developers specializing in crypto. These should have:

  • knowledge of public blockchains and stablecoins;
  • Proven experiences with cutting-edge AI-assisted engineering tools like GitHub Copilot to develop and debug smart contracts.

Visa is also looking for engineers who are “passionate about Web3 technology”. They will then have to:

  • justify solid experience in test frameworks (like Truffle, Mocha and Hardchat);
  • have a good understanding of Layer 1 and Layer 2 solutions;
  • have a working knowledge of writing smart contracts with Solidity. It is the programming language of Ethereum.

To join Visa’s crypto team, engineers will also need to have an understanding of:

  • public and authorized distributed ledger technology;
  • security protocols;
  • the new Ethereum account standard, ERC-4337.

Visa strengthens its commitment to crypto

In March, Visa denied allegations about its crypto investments. According to her explanations, she would have ceased all crypto activity after the collapse of many crypto companies.

Cuy Sheffield, Visa’s vice president and head of crypto, however, says the online payments company continues to work with crypto businesses. The goal: to provide fiat access and exit ramps.
