TETHER, the company behind USDT, plans to make its Bitcoin mining operating system (MOS) by the fourth quarter 2025, thus facilitating operations management for small minors and businesses without having recourse to third-party services.

In short
- TETHER will make Open Source its Bitcoin mining operating system (MOS) by the fourth quarter 2025.
- The objective: to support small minors and strengthen the decentralization of the Bitcoin network.
- TETHER plans to integrate its AI tool, QVAC, to improve the efficiency of mining.
TETHER will make its bitcoin mining software open-source by 2025
According to Paolo Ardoino, CEO of Tether, the objective is to help more mining companies to enter the market and strengthen the Bitcoin network by making it more decentralized. The more minors involved, the less control of the network is concentrated in the hands of a few large players. This improves the safety and overall resilience of Bitcoin.
In a post shared on X, Ardoino stresses that open source will allow the emergence of a new wave of mining activity. By removing dependence on commercial software and external hosts, the platform should offer a more equitable playground between large companies and small operators.
A springboard for small minors and newcomers in Bitcoin mining
MOS has been developed thinking about flexibility. It can operate on small -scale systems such as a Raspberry Pi connected to a few mining rigs, as well as on large -scale deployments in industrial mining farms.
It has also been revealed that the platform will include a native support for a variety of popular mining equipment and container systems, including configurations cooled by air or immersion. In addition, it will be integrated with a wide range of electrical components and environmental controls such as thermostats and power systems. This allows operators to effectively manage their equipment and maintain high performance mining operations.
Developers will be able to create and add personalized plugins adapted to specific operational equipment or requirements. Tether encourages contributions to the main software, with the intention of promoting a growing community of developers who will improve the system over time.
Giw Zanganeh, vice-president of energy and mining at Tether, said that the Open Source MOS will allow any mining operator, whatever its size, to build a self-hosted management system. This will give minors a total control over how they monitor, maintain and optimize their operations, without being locked up in commercial software ecosystems.
Zanganeh also expressed his confidence in the basic design of MOS, suggesting that he could evolve to become a standard mining solution throughout the industry. As more users will adopt the system, it could become the reference software for the management of Bitcoin mining infrastructure.
This project is part of a broader thrust for decentralization
Tether's work on MOS is part of a larger strategy aimed at strengthening the decentralized infrastructure of the Bitcoin ecosystem. In early April, the company has teamed up with Ocean, a mining pool which promotes an open participation in the production of blocks. As part of this partnership, Tether has committed to allocating part of his hash power, resulting from its current and future operations, in the Pool Ocean.
This change aims to reduce the concentration of mining power, allowing a more diverse group of participants to contribute to the validation of Bitcoin blocks. By distributing control more equitably, Tether and Ocean hope to improve the equity, security and transparency of the network.
Another aspect of the project includes the planned integration of the decentralized IA platform of Tether, Qvac, in Mos. The AI will be used to analyze the operational data of the mining activities, generate intelligent reports and optimize the performance of the equipment.
Tether also sees great potential in supporting renewable energy users. Many small and medium -sized enterprises producing their own electricity, especially solar, could use MOS to redirect their excess energy towards mining.
While Tether continues to extend his role in mining and infrastructure, the company said that it does not intend to continue an IPO. Ardoino recently dismissed the idea of an IPO, minimizing speculation and qualifying the suggested valuations of conservatives for the position of Tether on the market.
