A few days ago, the German cloud service provider, Hetzner, ended its collaboration with Solana (SOL) validators. The company said its policy prohibits the use of its servers for crypto-related activities. A few weeks earlier, it had made a similar decision against Ethereum (ETH) node operators. Its share of ETH nodes has thus fallen from 16% to 12%. After the ruling against Solana’s validators, network co-founder Anatoly Yakovenko confirmed the news. He then instructed validators to transfer their operations to a crypto-friendly provider. In the aftermath, the manager announced that a new validator would help maintain network availability. He also added that there would be no more blackouts before the end of the year.
Solana (SOL) bounces back with Google Cloud!
In a tweet on November 5, Google Cloud announced that it would become a validator for the Solana ecosystem. The announcement comes days after Hetzner’s decision to no longer house the activities of Solana’s validators.
“We will operate a validation platform for Solana, producing blocks. This will allow us to participate in the blockchain network. »the cloud giant said in a statement.
Additionally, Google Cloud announced a series of new products that it will integrate into the Solana network. Among other things, the entity specified that it will integrate Solana into its Blockchain Engine Node solution by 2023. So anyone can have a Solana node on Google Cloud.
In addition, Google Cloud has stated that it “would index Solana data to allow the developer ecosystem to access historical data”.
