OpenSea Pro: A new platform for NFT experts

In April 2022, OpenSea acquired marketplace aggregator NFT Gem. The company issued a statement on Tuesday revealing that it has been collaborating with the Gem team for the past few months on a project. Now, one of the biggest NFT marketplaces in the world is unveiling a new platform. Discover this product dedicated to users who have an in-depth knowledge of the NFT landscape.

A multitude of features on the new platform

For some time, OpenSea has been struggling to reclaim its leadership position in the NFT market. In this context, the marketplace has just launched the platform OpenSea Pro for experienced NFT users. The company’s team said:Over the past few months, the Gem team has worked tirelessly to build and refine the platform in its new form: Gem v2“. “Today we officially join forces to unveil OpenSea Pro“, she added.

The new platform should provide a new level of optionality for seasoned collectors. According to OpenSea, it will also guarantee a new level “selection and control for professional collectors“. In addition, the platform is equipped with a function allowing the real-time data crossing. The latter aims to promote the monitoring of user activity and collections on different NFT marketplaces.

The marketplace announced also improved user controls as well as fees on the new platform. The features of NFTs, mobile functionality, collection offers and lists would also have been improved.

Is OpenSea Pro intended to compete with Blur?

The launch of OpenSea Pro comes following Blur’s rapid rise in the charts. Indeed, the NFT Blur platform succeeded in dethroning OpenSea in terms of daily trading volume. It owes this performance to the various incentives it offers to attract new users. That said, OpenSea’s new platform is set to compete with Blur and other marketplaces as an NFT aggregator.

Andrii Yasinetsky, CEO of data company NFT Mnemonic, says:OpenSea Pro offers a fairer system by leveraging OpenSea’s existing scale, resulting in a simpler and more efficient trading-focused user experience, while Blur appears to be purely speculation-based“. It should be noted that more NFT marketplaces may soon emerge. After all, it is now possible to create an NFT marketplace without coding, thanks to Polygon.
