FC Barcelona wins 100 million euros!

Orpheus Media paid 100 million euros to acquire the 24.5% of Barça Studios. The Catalan club intends to use its funds to register its new signings, namely Lewandowski, Raphinha, Koundé, Kessié and Christensen. This is a relief for the Catalans who were looking forward to their favorite players. Note that FC Barcelona President Joan Laporta and Vice President Rafa Yuste negotiated a lot to make this sale.

Recall that last week La Liga failed to approve the contracts of Barca’s new signings. This is due to the fact that the club’s balance sheet indicated that they were in significant financial difficulty. To deal with these, the Catalan club has been working to recover cash for some time.

You should know that with this sale, the company Barca Studios will be renamed Barca Digital & Entertainment (BDE). It will now focus on Web3 growth and will be powered by the FC Barcelona Fan Token (BAR) cryptocurrency and Chiliz Blockchain. Note that the Catalan club’s fan token is sold on Socios.com.

In recent months, FC Barcelona has signed several partnerships in order to obtain more liquidity. The club has notably signed a partnership with Spotify. He also made a transaction with the American investment fund Sixth Street. Prior to the transaction with Orpheus Media, FC Barcelona had sold 25% of Barça Studios shares to Socios.com.
