A new comet has just fallen on Vitalik Buterin and on the credibility of the Ethereum company in general. Charles Hoskinson, who was a co-founder of Ethereum before becoming a co-founder of Cardano, has just reinforced the accusations made against Vitalik Buterin by Steven Nerayoff. Details below.
Charles Hoskinson confirms Nerayoff’s accusations against Vitalik?
A few days after being praised by the co-founder of Solana, the boss of Ethereum finds himself at the center of a serious controversy that could change everything. Charles Hoskinson appears to confirm all of former Ethereum advisor Steven Nerayoff’s accusations against Buterin.
Indeed, the latter revealed on November 16, five audio conversations that he had with Vitalik Buterin in 2015. Published on X in NFT format, the records reveal the structural difficulties, inconsistencies and financial mismanagement faced by Ethereum. Vitalik could be heard asking Nerayoff for advice on these challenges that posed a threat to the long-term potential of the Ethereum blockchain.
Cardano co-founder Charles Hoskinson was quick to react to the audio NFTs published by Steven Nerayoff. Competitor of Ethereum for life, he drives the point home with a tweet which recalls how the massive sale of bitcoins by Ethereum caused the price of bitcoin to plummet in February 2015.
He also recalled the fall that Ethereum experienced at the beginning and the rescue and restructuring plan that Nerayoff had proposed to him. By publicly siding with Nerayoff, Charles Hoskinson seems determined to do battle with his former partner.
Vitalik accused of stealing the idea of smart contracts, ICOs and utility tokens
It should be noted that Steven Nerayoff also accuses Vitalik Buterin of intellectual property theft. He claims that the Ethereum co-founder copied his ideas and concept, those of Ripple, as well as those of Cardano.
Note that Cardano was created in 2017 by Charles Hoskinson after a dispute with Buterin pushed him in 2014 to leave Ethereum, which he co-founded. Nerayoff claims that the functionality of smart contracts was developed based on innovative ideas from Ripple. He also indicates that the concepts of ICO and utility tokens were stolen from him by the co-founder of Ethereum, Joseph Lubin. However, he specifies, the greatest success of Ethereum is based on its smart contracts and on ICOs. If Vitalik Buterin has not yet reacted to these serious accusations, we should perhaps start to raise doubts about the long-term viability of the Ethereum blockchain. Let’s hope that all this is not a campaign intended to sabotage the bullish wave that ETH seems to be preparing since the recent recovery of the crypto market.
