Pectra: a major update from Ethereum in April
Named Pectra, the Next Ethereum upgrade is scheduled for April. According to several analysts expert in cryptography, it could be the most significant in the history of the Crypto network. The reason? It incorporates up to 20 EIP. This includes:
- Improvements for crypto wallets;
- Optimization of data availability.
One of the Major advances in Pectra lies in the doubling of the number of blobs dedicated to data. Concretely, they went from three to six. Which directly improves the scalability of the network. This update will also simplify the interaction of users with Ethereum, thus making crypto transactions more fluid and accessible.
According to a researcher from the Ethereum Foundation, Tim Beiko, the Pectra system contracts will be deployed on the Mainnet Ethereum from February 17.
Fusaka: a second strategic update
In parallel with Pectra, the developers set the Deadline of April 10 to finalize Fusaka. This is another upgrade focused on improving the Ethereum transactions inclusion process. The EIP proposals included in Fusaka will have to be submitted before March 13, while the community will be able to express its preferences until March 27.
This acceleration is part of a context of Increased pressure on Ethereum. The venture capital company Paradigm has recently urged developers to accelerate improvements in the protocol to maintain a competitive advantage.
