Preparations for Shanghai are progressing
Last week, Ethereum developers successfully deployed a first shadow fork of mainnet. The latter is intended for staked ETH withdrawal capacity viability test. Moreover, this 1er February, the developers launched the first public withdrawal testnet.
This is precisely the Zhejiang public testnet. Now the developers are preparing for the launch of two testnet upgrades. These are the Shanghai Upgrade and the Capella Upgrade.
The highly anticipated Shanghai hard fork is expected to take place in March. This event should allow stakers to withdraw funds staked on Beacon Chain, a side network of Ethereum. However, after the Shanghai upgrade, there will be a withdrawal hold. This will be done in anticipation of withdrawal times which could be very long.
