It’s the bomb in the crypto sphere: Anatoly Yakovenko, the founder of Solana, has just released an unexpected statement, to say the least, about the Ethereum blockchain. While the two projects are often opposed by presenting them as fierce competitors, Yakovenko wanted to calm things down during a notable speech.
A crypto plea for the harmony of blockchains
Against all expectations, Anatoly Yakovenko publicly took a stand against the tendency to portray projects like Solana or the crypto Polkadot as “Ethereum killers”. A label well known to cryptocurrency enthusiasts to designate potential replacements for the giant Ethereum.
However, according to Yakovenko, such a presentation of things harms the entire crypto ecosystem, fueling sterile rivalries between the different protocols. The boss of Solana is therefore calling for more collaboration, believing that there is no need for one project to fail for another to prosper.
A vision that is harmonious to say the least, when we know how much competition rages in the crypto Wild West!
ETH is here to stay according to Solana founder
But that’s not all. Because in his diatribe, Anatoly Yakovenko goes so far as to pay tribute to the technical advances made by the crypto Ethereum, proving once again that he does not consider the latter as an enemy to be defeated.
Thus, the founder of Solana even says he is “optimistic” about a future where the two protocols would coexist peacefully. As proof, he welcomes the efforts undertaken by Ethereum to scale its network via solutions such as “sharding”.
Enough to dampen the hopes of those who saw Solana as an “Ethereum killer”! Because according to Yakovenko, not only is harmony possible between the two blockchains, but they are destined to prosper together.
Ultimately, Anatoly Yakovenko’s message marks a turning point in the crypto universe. By advocating harmony against sterile confrontation, the boss of Solana opens the way to a more mature approach to competition.
It remains to be seen whether his peers will be able to follow this edifying example. But we can bet that this hand extended to King Ethereum will contribute, in the absence of full reconciliation, to easing tensions that are often counterproductive for the crypto ecosystem as a whole.
