Crypto: Ripple (XRP) takes off

Ripple's XRP price jumped 4% in the past hour, outperforming most other major cryptocurrencies. Let's find out the key factors behind this sudden rise.

XRP leads the crypto market

XRP price surged 4% in the last 60 minutes, reaching $0.64. Its market capitalization crossed the $35 billion mark for the first time since March 26. Daily trading volume also increased, totaling approximately $2.3 billion and surpassing that of Binance Coin (BNB).

This remarkable performance of XRP contrasts with the moderate gains recorded by other major digital assets. Cardano's ADA rose 1.7%, while Polkadot (DOT) rose 1%. The heavyweights of the sector, Bitcoin and Ethereum, have seen little or no notable movement.

Positive outlook for XRP

Several factors point to a bullish cycle for XRP in the coming weeks. First, the imminent outcome of Ripple's lawsuit against the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) could boost the stock in the event of a decisive victory for the company.

In addition, the approach of Halving, scheduled for the end of next week, is historically a harbinger of a major rally across the entire crypto market. This phenomenon could therefore benefit XRP.

However, it is important to remain vigilant regarding the risks linked to a potential increase in interest rates. Such a development could indeed weigh on the prices of crypto-assets, including that of Ripple.

The current performance of XRP demonstrates the bullish momentum driving the crypto market. Driven by promising growth prospects linked to the Ripple trial and the approach of the Bitcoin halving, XRP could experience a surge. However, if the macro-financial context were to deteriorate, particularly in the event of a further increase in interest rates, the entire crypto market could suffer.
