Grab is the leader in Uber-like ride-sharing apps, but for Southeast Asia. She also does taxis and deliveries. The company has just added a Web3 crypto wallet to its platform. A decision which will allow a wide audience to 180 million users access crypto payments. Grab’s new crypto wallet is already available in the Singapore region. It is based on the Polygon Blockchain.

Additionally, Grab has tied up with the Monetary Authority of Singapore in a partnership that will allow it to offer NFT vouchers for restaurants and popular experiences in the city.

Grab, a major player in the adoption of cryptos in Southeast Asia?

Delivered third quarter 2023, catches show that Grab matters already over 34.9 million users transacting monthly. The company offers its services in more than 500 cities and offers food delivery, package delivery, online payment services and much more. Since June, Grab has been part of a pilot program that explores new payment systems, particularly with digital assets. It even involves Amazon and Southeast Asian financial services company Fazz.

In collaboration with the Monetary Authority of Singapore, Grab is testing three payment methods including central bank digital currencies or CBDC for payments. Could the company breathe new life into this digital asset which has massively failed all over the world?
